Excited for this game. Oregon State has a good opportunity to prove they are a top 25 team this year.
They lost to Utah. They are maybe a top 25 team in the Pac-12, but not the country.

Why would Oregon State play zone?? Oregon with 5 threes in the first half. Prince has caught the ball 3 times at the elbow which has resulted in 2 assists and a 15 foot jumper. Ducks look solid.
Mikesell is 4-6 on 3FG in just the first quarter. That's called going off.

Looks like OSU brought a knife to a shoot-out...26-13 and it's really not that close...

Thankfully Jones is saving the Beavers bacon. 32-22...

I did myself a favor and walked away, but glad to see Jones starting making some shots at least.

Ducks 9-18 behind the arc.

Brenda can't seem to get out of her own way. Imagine the teams she could have if she would stop running off top tier talent every year. Curious if Owusu is next.

Just a completely expected result if youve watched these two teams this year. Though I thought this would be the spread at the end of game, not at the half.

Disagree, seems like letting the best shooting team in the country have wide open shots is a poor strategy.

My comment is outdated by quite a bit now, but it was 1 player doing all the damage at the time I made it. Do you see my point?

It was Oregon's great ball movement and exploitation of the zone that created so many looks for her which she knocked down. Seemed like the same thing in much of the 2nd quarter with other players getting involved too.

I actually like Schatz better than Woodward.
So do I. She's an ex college athlete (Creighton) and does bball and soccer ver well. Brngs the energy, but maybe some folks don't like her schtick. Been listening to her for year as she lives in Portland and did TV sports news.

Nice half for the Ducks, Boley cold, but PaoPao and Mikesell have been studs.

Pao Pao with a quiet 15. She just looks so in control. I can only imagine her numbers if she got more minutes and got 25 shots per game like some of the other Freshmen. This Freshmen Point Guard class is maybe the best in the history of the game. With Bueckers, Clark, Van Lith and Pao Pao and several others.

Not a Rueck defense we are use to seeing at all. In fact Oreogn State plays very little defense. Rueck can't be happy with this defense being his emphasis, pride and joy each year.

Liked the Ducks ball movement. Team getting comfortable with each other and playing well.

And seriously, where is Goforth? 18 minutes and zero buckets, only one attempt, 2 turnovers.

Oregon is a young team give them more time and they can only improve.

It was just kind of a slow start for them, but they obviously got rolling while OSU remained in neutral. The trajectory of the 2 programs seems to be moving in opposite directions currently.

This series of Kelly vs. Scott is starting to look like Geno vs. Pat. Pat was always defense, big forwards to rebound and one guard running the point. While Geno was ball movement, read and react. Initially a good series, then the tide of UConn became a Tsunami. Same for Oregon, Kelly has ball movement and shooters while OSU has Goodman and Jones...

Scott needs to get to work and in contact with Geno to understand how to run an offense...

Not a very accurate comparison IMO. The games were often highly competitive with both teams in the top 4 and the tide often turned based on which team had a legendary player to help carry them. Holdsclaw was 4-2 vs. UCONN, Taurasi 7-1 vs. Tennessee, Parker's class 3-0 vs. UCONN. Was very much back and forth where this rivalry was mostly in Oregon State's favor and now Oregon is the much stronger program and likely will be for years to come.

I am starting to think this may be the deepest women's team I've seen in a while, at least offensively. Glad Graves is making sure his team focuses on D. He'll pull the player if she's not playing D hard and he's got lots pf options to send someone to replace her.
