This series of Kelly vs. Scott is starting to look like Geno vs. Pat. Pat was always defense, big forwards to rebound and one guard running the point. While Geno was ball movement, read and react. Initially a good series, then the tide of UConn became a Tsunami. Same for Oregon, Kelly has ball movement and shooters while OSU has Goodman and Jones...

Scott needs to get to work and in contact with Geno to understand how to run an offense...

It's certainly starting to trend a certain way, but Graves started out 0-7 against OSU with Oregon, including several blowout losses. Coming into this season the series was 9-5 in OSU's favor during Graves' tenure.

Well yeah, Oregon was trash then and Reuck had a 4 year head start. Hard to judge any of those early matchups.

And seriously, where is Goforth? 18 minutes and zero buckets, only one attempt, 2 turnovers.

Looks like she woke up in Q3, but too little too late.

Just box score watching, looks like big games for Mikesell and Paopao are the story of this one.

Pao Pao with a quiet 15. She just looks so in control. I can only imagine her numbers if she got more minutes and got 25 shots per game like some of the other Freshmen. This Freshmen Point Guard class is maybe the best in the history of the game. With Bueckers, Clark, Van Lith and Pao Pao and several others.

Very good starts for the current crop of freshmen. Arguably the best IMO was 2004-05 class which had a lot of Sweet 16 and Elite 8 teams anchored by freshmen or carried by freshmen in big moments. 6 of the Elite 8 teams had freshmen starters or double digit scorers (and many were both starters and double digit scorers). And the best recruit from the HS class was Candace Parker who sat out injured.

I think Boley's Conference POY candidacy is taking a hit today. But maybe Paopao is sprinting out to the front of the Conference FOY race.

Surprised Oregon is coasting so much in the second half, passing up wide open shots to drag the clock down. Not Graves typical MO.

OSU showing some fight. Mitrovic has quick feet and good touch for a big girl. Paopao is a stud...very good demeanor on the court and seems to have very good decision making skills.

I think Goforth freshman of the year campaign is being over shadowed today

I just had to throw a bit of snark in there to cheer myself up. Boley is having a nice season but when someone suggested in another thread they thought she would earn the nod, I just couldn't see it.

Same here on Goforh

Not a very accurate comparison IMO. The games were often highly competitive with both teams in the top 4 and the tide often turned based on which team had a legendary player to help carry them. Holdsclaw was 4-2 vs. UCONN, Taurasi 7-1 vs. Tennessee, Parker's class 3-0 vs. UCONN. Was very much back and forth where this rivalry was mostly in Oregon State's favor and now Oregon is the much stronger program and likely will be for years to come.
Not since 2008 when the game continued to evolve and left Pat in the dust. That's my point.
