Amazing! Let me see if I have this right, last year UCONN had 3 of the 5 best players in the country & this year UCONN also has 3 of the 5 best, but it is a different 3? At some point , you would think that would translate into team success.

And all three return.

I suspect they opened it up to a wider group of their contributors/on-air talent since they ended up with a fair number of 'also receiving votes' players - but it is certainly not as wide a universe nor geographically as diverse a group as votes on the standard AA teams and awards. The fact that Lobo was asking if they voted for DPOY suggests she was involved in voting on year end players for some of their awards, and I would think Lawson and Rowe as well.

The NCAA doesn't have a committee that selects All-Americans. The NCAA selection committee selects and seeds teams for the NCAA tournament.

Thanks. It may be only those three for the annual awards. Or, as noted, it could be a larger group. We know it's limited to select ESPN staff. They should have said who the voters were.

I think middle of the first round. She's an elite defender and now a stellar shooter. She is off her game a little now because of the injury, but she's a solid player, great teammate, and true Badass.

Well this will cause a stir and be bulletin board material. One can hear the carping....Conn based ESPN choosing three of its own. However, anyone who has watched the three UCONN stars in the big games should have no quibbles. I do feel bad for Jones of MD...IMO she had a first team AA kind of year.

I could live with these ten being the WBCA team. I think it's funny A'ja Wilson gets so little love on this board when it's obvious the woman is extremely good. Could she benefit from Geno? Absolutely, and so would almost any of the players not on UConn's team. Collier is the gem of the trio for UConn this year in my opinion. She is phenomenally talented. Gabby and KLS aren't too shabby, but Collier is my favorite of the three.

Some perspective is probably needed for us here on this bold statement you made. The Big12 Coaches voted Brooke McCarty as POY, so if the coaches From her own conference who thought she was at least 2nd best, why should she have made the 1st team?

I think that's in reference to Jones of Maryland not Jones of Baylor. Non the less I wouldn't take Jones on the 1st team over Lou, no way!
