2026 Transfer portal

The three Ducks into the portal were not a surprise according to the scuttlebut and I guess there is one more pair of shoes to drop. I’d have liked to keep Rambus so not sure what is happening there. I hope Graves has some front line help lined up. Incoming transfer Mallory Meyer is 6’1” and has practiced with the team all year but Ducks need another big or two.

I've been pondering who would be next after Hailey Van Lith and then Miles.
Williams feels like the poor woman's Hailey Van Lith or Miles, but just as the portal giveth, graduation taketh, so I suppose he can't be certain of a top PG prospect every year...

There is no one of their caliber in the portal yet.
Heavy emphasis on yet. While the names have been pouring in, we have a long way to go to get the usual 1100 or 1200 or so.
True, but a top PG who wants to switch schools for her final season is not so easy to find. Hailey Van Lith and Miles both had unusual situations at their prior schools that prompted the moves, and I'd say the same applies for Williams.

… Deal's parents moved from Cali not just to watch Addy play at Iowa, but her older brother, who has one more year at Grinnell, home of the DIII program that shoots, shoots, shoots.

So, she may not necessarily be headed back to California ... We'll see.
Haven’t seen their depth chart, but I bet she’d tear it up at Grinnell.

I remember that Deniya Prawl from Tennessee had interest in ND.........I really liked her game in high school and was surprised that she got limited minutes this season..........she may be more of a wing than a guard.........from the looks of the portal, you'll have plenty to choose from.....
Deniya Prawl and ND did have strong "mutual" interest. ND was a finalist, but she obviously chose Tennessee.
Prawl's timing may now be off vis a vis ND's: the Irish have a class made of 6'2" wings, such as Jacy Abii (who looked awfully smooth last night in the McDonald's All American game), Bella Ragone (a shooter) and Amari Byles. They also have Jenica Lewis, a shooting guard who hit a step back from the logo in the Mickey D game last night.

Not saying Ms. Prawl and ND are not possible (ND likes going after transfers they know), but I think they need more of a combo guard than anything else. Still, stay tuned.

Skim has the top left hand side box blurred out. It's either Cooper or Civil. This leaves 1 player left on the roster.

In this Wild West era we are living in now, every team would like to know UCONN's formula for getting not only talented players but those who want to be part of a team and be loyal to the program. Yes, there have been transfers out of the program (NC State got one in Qadence Samuels) but without diving into deep research, it seems rare that a star player ever leaves that program and stays there until they graduate. Despite the high standards demanded by Geno...players who go to UCONN want to be coached tough and are dedicated to the program.

I say this in the wake of Zam Jones declaring she is leaving NC State...and although no true reason has been given, it appears either money or dissatisfaction with the coaching staff led to her departure. If Zam Jones, who grew up just 50 miles away from Raleigh, is willing to leave the program that recruited her for a long time, then no program is safe from having players leave. Except, apparently, UCONN.

I doubt Edwards sticks around for this. The roster is completely different than what was projected and her main recruiter is gone.
