2026 Transfer Portal - UConn Interest Only

Interesting. Other than the 7’2 white guy I have no idea where the similarities are
Maybe Nimari was a very poor man’s Cam and Yaxel was a bigger version of Castle? But Cadeau and Morez did not resemble Newton and Alex at all.

They had a hulkster playing the 4 who would play the 5 at alot of schools, another 4 playing the 3 spot, and then a PG in Cadeau who isn't built like Newton at all. That is one of the more bizarre comments I've seen on here recently. UConn's title teams were built nothing like that.

They’re all good at basketball. If that’s what he means by copying what we did, then sure

Hate to say it but Cadeau had a little of Shabazz’s gamesmanship against us. Smh

Listed at 7'2 285, McKeever averaged 8.2p, 9.2r, 1.8a and 0.8b per game in just 23.2 mpg. Top-2 OR% and DR% rates in WCC play and finished amongst the Saint Mary's top defensive efficiency rates.

Clearly, he's got great size, is an excellent rebounder, but I also did his ability to pass out of the post, which was a fun bonus we got to see from Reed this year.

Not sure we should count on McKeever from the WCC to be our starting 5....obviously the staff knows best just skeptical of most non-P5 big man numbers. I hope they reach a little higher for a staring 5 if they think Reibe not ready. A shooter can shoot so less of issue with guards moving up a weight class.

Sweet. One serious question I have, why aren't we going after any of the top 5 transfers!?!? We are an elite program losing a ton of talent. I'd love to see us go after Paulius Murauskas or Stefan Vaaks or Moustapha Thiam.

They literally copied what we did to win our two titles.
When it comes down to brass tax, the main "copy" is a massive man in the middle of the floor with long arms that repelled shots and drives. The issue with copying that is that there aren't that many of those guys around. It feels like at best 2 or so a year.

He does - hate him if he's on the other team, love him if he's on your team. He'll do those little things that get in the opponents head.

May has a very good eye for talent.

I’m all about Najai. Just wonder about the motor and culture. No idea how he is with that, but if it’s going to be a renegotiation each year I’ll pass. He’s perfect though. Anyone leaving a good school after having pt is a big no to me. Acaden? Really? Not a good look. I’d say he’s SEC bound.
The kid spent a year with Sha. I wouldn’t question his motor or culture fit lol. He’d probably love Hurley

Did people just not take shots at the rim when he was in the game? I'm trying to figure out how a guy averages less than a block per game at 7'2 but has such a good defensive rate

He was out of shape and the program wasn’t thrilled about that is what I’ve heard

threading the needle here. We need a two headed monster at C but we also don’t want Reibe to transfer. It was a tale of two seasons with him. I was surprised with how good he was early and equally surprised with how bad he was late. But McKeever and Reibe could split the 40 mins down the middle like Samson and Reed did last year.

I was wondering the same. Meanwhile Michigan is targeting 6'8" and taller players for their targets - we were at a physical disadvantage during the national championship game. Are they starting to out-recruit us already?
I’d like three forwards 7’8 or taller, each with a referee in his pocket.

Don’t agree with that, I believe Ross can start, has finally developed enough offensively and can start because of his defensive and motor on the court. He is not going to hurt us if he’s in the starting lineup in my opinion.
I don’t think you can start Ross unless you’re getting consistent offense from at least three of the other spots. He’s still just a spot up shooter on offense who isn’t really a great shooter. He plays fantastic defense but offensively we didn’t have enough scoring most of the time. He also plays better in spurts as it maximizes his effort and limits the boneheaded plays. Think he’s best utilized off the bench/spot starting based on match ups.

We need two impact centers who share the position. It's what we've had with all our successful teams under Hurley- Sanogo/Clingan, Clingan/Samson Samson/Tarris, Tarris/Reibe. If people around Reibe are putting bad thoughts in his head like Hurley has alluded to this season Reibe has to be mature enough to block it out and think for himself.

From the stats, they actually took a lot of them at the rim. They just missed them. Seems he was good at making misses, but not actually getting his hand on the ball.

This kid has gotten better and better with each year. His progression this year was impressive.

JRoss of the last dozen games or so can absolutely start and be a contributor on an elite Top 10 team.

He shot over 50% from the field, 39% from 3.

If the staff makes a little more effort to incorporate him into our sets more, and can find someone to throw an accurate lob, he’s one of the athletic pieces we were missing this year.

McKeever is really talented, and you can't teach height (tm) but needs to get stronger and improve offensively. He went back and forth between being dominant and completely anonymous for SMC this season

“Along with Michigan, the Duke Blue Devils, the St. John's Red Storm, and the Louisville Cardinals all have serious interest in landing the former Kansas forward”

I dunno what the money situation is but this kid is REALLY good. I watched Kansas a few times to catch Peterson (who has NBA talent for sure) but Bidunga impressed me. He would change the ceiling of the team next year imo.

Our staff is amazing with bigs and I want another giant on the team.
