Another Alex from Massachusetts. If any one or more of Mullins, Silas, or Ball move on, we should absolutely put on a full court press for this kid.
The mojo of having another Alex on the team couldn't hurt either.
Good and relatively inexpensiveWilkins is the one. Shifty
Have you ever seen him play or is this solely based on measurements? No to Devin Royal please - unless it's for the football team or has a 7 ft 2 inch wingspan a la Jeff Adrien.
Are we sure he fits our system? Seems ball dominant and not great from 3. He definitely is shifty but what has made UConn successful in the portal is they recruit for fit not talent. Not sure he fits.(albeit I only seen him once vs us)Wilkins is the one. Shifty
That list doesn't look relatively inexpensive.Good and relatively inexpensive
I remember Jim Calhoun saying something like I don’t care how long a guys neck is, and he cared more about wingspan.Unless his name is Charles Barkley, you probably don’t want a vertically challenged power forward
Did Hilton Armstrong have a massive wingspan? I'm only asking because I know he had a long neck.I remember Jim Calhoun saying something like I don’t care how long a guys neck is, and he cared more about wingspan.

That’s fit. Will he be willing to be coached hard? Will he share the ball in a team first environment? Does he play hard on defense? I haven’t seen enough. But in that one game sample set, you see obvious talent but not sure if he would be great for us. He seems like a classic overpay where a team will offer him more than we will.People said the same thing about Tristen. When you're 3x as talented as the rest of your team, you necessarily take way more shots.
The big question mark here is if he's willing to be coached hard. That's a rare breed of dog.
Different era.I remember Jim Calhoun saying something like I don’t care how long a guys neck is, and he cared more about wingspan.
He played a good amount off-ball as a movement shooter with the option to either shoot or get into the lane off screens. If he’s willing to accept a CG role where he’s splitting point duties, his skill set fits what we want to do a lot. He also took a lot of lower percentage shots in the furman offense. Our system creates much better looks and Id expect 3 point efficiency to increase quite a bit.Are we sure he fits our system? Seems ball dominant and not great from 3. I think this is something we should be changing. We need more talent. We can adapt our system. You have the same system every year then you're easier to scout and defend. Are we sure he fits our system? Seems ball dominant and not great from 3.
