I have to say: I'm incredibly impressed at the amount of us that knew but kept the Storrs Central secret. I don't know whether we were right or wrong, but I feel like it was impressive nonetheless...

I’m not going to lie but I don’t know why people feel the need to even say that it says so or you might know over on Storrs Central. Even your comment Dan makes it feel sometimes like it’s a BY vs Storrs Central and if you only inhabit the BY you aren’t good enough to get the info and must wait until it is felt ok to release the state secrets. I get it that it’s a choice to not pay the $10 a month but let it be sometimes.

In this era of portal transfers and coach jumping, prior year's results are of little use unless very few players leave the school and the head coach remains. Southern Miss is in a very similar situation as UConn. Their head coach, Charlie Huff left at the end of the season to take the Memphis job. They had 28 players go into the portal with 17 of those following Huff to Memphis. (Sound familiar?) They lost about 30 players to graduation. So, they will have about 60 new players for 2026 playing under a new head coach. One difference is that they promoted their Offensive Coordinator, Blake Anderson, to Head Coach and he's retained much of the staff that was there under Huff. Like Candle, Anderson has head coaching experience (Utah St. and Arkansas St.).

Before Utah St fired Anderson in 2024, he racked up 2 wins against UConn:
2022 Huskies L 20-31 at USU;
2023 good guys L 33-34 The Rent.
