The Masters should be one of the hardest tests (if not the hardest) test in golf. its a Major! We shouldn't be seeing players driving greens or hitting a wedge as a 2nd shot into a Par 5. Especially since there is hardly rough to "penalize" long but wayward shots. The course has become too "gimmicky" because technology & players are just too good.

The U.S. Open is the hardest test in golf. But I agree that some longer rough and faster greens would make it more fun to watch.

We might need to make some easier bunkers for Douchambeau though, lol.

My golf coach I see once a month says the way to make golf harder is going to be changing the balls. Not lengthening the tees like most people say. Pro V1s are a cheat code.

Yep, I think Gary Player said something similar recently about the golf balls. Wouldn’t be surprised to see it changed in the near future

I can play with a pro-v1 or a cracked practice ball from the 80s. I'm still missing the fairway.

I play with a father and son who plays D1 a couplefew times a year. Kid is regularly shooting in the 60s. I have no idea why he plays with me.
 
I’ve analyzed the first three days of the Masters and now I am not quite as sure as I was yesterday that Rory is going to win. I overlooked the fact that he is something of a ninny.
 
Rory is still the big Favorite even after losing his lead. Cam is too volatile and Burns always come up small when it counts. Scottie is too far back imo.

Tiger is 50. He was fine competing for majors 6 years ago. No one did that to him other than Tiger. Cuz he’s too dumb and/or cheap to hire a driver.

These conspiracy theories are beyond laughable. He did this to himself. Period.

Tiger would have won 20+ Majors easily if he didnt have all the back injuries in his prime in his mid-30s. What could have been..

The Masters supports changes to the ball. IIRC they had to buy property years ago to move the tee back on the 13th. The real estate is not often there. When I was playing at my best the average driving distance on The tour was 260- 280 yds. Just amazing the distances now and a game I'm not familiar with. By suggestion, I started out hitting a 2-wood off the tee to help keep the ball in play...but that was the game at the time. Now its distance and the rough( if you can call it that) be damned. Riviera didn't even have any this year. Hope you keep improving your game and making shots that keep you coming back.

You’re like a little kid that sticks his fingers in his ears and yells “la la la la”.

He won the masters in 2019 but hadn’t won a major before that since 2005. So he went from the best golfer ever to set foot on a course to someone who can’t even swing a club and goes to complete irrelevance for the last 20 years.

Meanwhile you still can’t name another black golfer. News flash. You can’t.

Who the hell is Cameron Young?

My guess is that somebody in the -7 or -8 range will go in the clubhouse around -10 or -11 and stress the leaders late. Maybe Scottie or Jason Day. It was nice to see Morikawa bounce back after a rough Thursday.
 
Anybody else think the Greyson shirt logo looks a lot like UConn’s Husky logo?

I don’t play golf or watch golf or even like golf - I just troll golf threads to find out who is a lunatic - but I like to drink at high end country clubs, so I was having a few with my in laws and their friends in Florida last year.

Their friends’ grandson was on the Korn Ferry tour, (won his PGA card), and was driving balls. Everyone there looked pretty good to me, but the difference between him and them was a million miles. I cannot imagine him suffering through a round with you muni course monkeys.
