2025 WNBA Regular Season

I think it's almost time for a Boneyard WBB General Forum drinking game. We've got a pretty good cast of characters and tropes to run with at this point.
Hey, I'm on my annual pilgrimage to the beach, so I'm even half-way ahead of most players by 5 p.m. through late July. Count me in!

So...mine will be way too early calls on games, only to have the trajectory of said game alter drastically, right?

Atlanta wasted a 30 point effort from Jordin Canada. Indiana pulled away in Q4. Mitchell and Boston provided most of the scoring, also I think Cunningham's best offensive output so far w/ the Fever. I was wondering if she was ever going to get going.

Not a surprising night in Seattle, with the Storm taking down the Sun, 79-65. What did catch my attention was the scoring balance;
  • 4 Storm(s) in double figures (Williams-18, Ogwumike-14, Magbegor & Diggins-14)
  • Those four took between 10 and 12 shots each.
  • Erica Wheeler had five assists, as did Diggins, Ogumwike and Williams.
  • Committed only 7 turnovers, none each for the backcourt of Diggins and Wheeler.

Yes, it was against the Sun, but tidy night at the office.

Great first quarter by Chicago vs Minnesota.. talent in the W is so great and it's cool to see players play to their potential. The first quarter for Chicago is like how u expect their players to play at their best. Rachel Banham in college was such a bucket and has had moments in the W. I know she coaches on the side as well. She's physical and a lights out shooter. I'm like y isnt she like a quality starting point guard, I never understood it. Angel looks like she's taking a leap and I love it. It just takes time, she'll continue to a improve but she loves the game and is so competitive. Cardoso has missed some bunnies but she's taking great shots and she's physical. Chicago looks great.
Minnesota doesn't look amazing. Sometimes I think they play down to their competition and or play at a b minus. They are consistently good but how do they get to that next level consistently. Idk it's a concern of mine. Not hating though, I like their pieces a lot. I almost think they should start Diamond Miller. I know it's easy to say after their hot start. But she adds that dynamic

I started watching midway through the 3rd, feels like Minnesota getting every call in their favor

Hopefully those out there in social media and some sports circles are done panning her efforts during the off-season and with Lisa Leslie. It looks like it's translating on the court and she can only get better.

Calls definitely shifted to Chicagos favor but they stepped up and got the job done. Big games for Atkins/Reese/Cardoso and a very big win for Chicago. Reese’s streak of great play continues

Halftime:
A'ja: 10-12 for 25 points
Rest of team: 7-21 for 20 points

A'ja doing all the work for the Aces yet again...

So...Young must've had a pretty decent 2nd half? Looks like Loyd got involved too.

Aces hold on for a 2 point win. 34 (plus 16 rebounds) for Wilson, 30 for Young, 15 for Loyd.

This isn’t a shocker, but they’re already down Karlie. Absent any more injuries they can live without a frontcourt player, but they sure could use another guard.

Does waiving Pili free up some cap space? Honest question, I have no idea how that might work.

Yes. After 5pm EST tomorrow all contracts are guaranteed for the rest of the season (though they're offloaded if another team picks them up). Sure, she's on a rookie contract so it's not more than $80k, but I'm guessing they may want some room to sign a shooting guard since they don't have the most robust bench behind McBride with Samuelson out.

No it's not. Timing sucks considering it was after the game but that's the business side of this sport.
