Holy cow. Valks and Sun were close in Q1, then Golden State blew it wide open w/ a 36-12 2nd quarter.

27-point lead at halftime. GS is ahead of Indiana and Las Vegas in the standings.

Does the coach have an issue with morrow. Bench her after half with a short least after leading team in scoring and never seen again

Double double for Laeticia Amihere and Bree Hall's first WNBA points! V's UP!

Dawn had a lot to celebrate today/tonight, but these two milestones take the cake!

Golden State is well on track to blow past the 13 wins ESPN predicted for the season.
Y'all. Has there ever been a W team that had five players on the floor who signed with the team in the last two weeks? We ended the game with Amihere, Bibby, Chen, Hall, and Powers on the floor, three of them had never taken the court in a Valks jersey, and ALL FIVE SCORED. Ballhalla went wild when Hall and Powers scored in the final minute. Such good vibes.

I think the betting folks in Vegas had the over/under on number of wins at 7.5 out of 44 games. Once they got to 6 wins, the over/under went to 15. I think they could win 20+.

I’m far from a Christie Sides believer, but the Fever under Steph White have an improved roster and don’t look proportionally better.
I'm honestly starting to have similar feelings. They look like a .500 team yet again and probably the 6-7th best team in the league.

I think the one difference between last year and this year is that they can play with and beat any team in the league. Last season I don't think that was the case.

The Sun just didn’t seem into the game tonight. They were consistently outhustled. I wonder if the coach is connecting with the players at all.
Funny you mentioned that "connecting with the players" part. I wonder the same thing with these that are struggling this season, in this case the Sun. Basketball is a simple game when you break it down. Just a lot of time when teams are not clicking, it could be that connection between a coach and players. Then I look over at Golden State. A team that literally came together like a YMCA team or local pickup game at the park over a few weeks and they are playing like they have been together for years! So I do wonder if there is a connection issue.

Golden State is the darlings of the WNBA. All that is good with sports. Love watching this team play and the FANS enthusiasm.

The Mystics are a fun team to watch. The ball movement and making the extra pass is fun. I'm wondering what they will do with Edwards. She's not getting much minutes, and Iriafen is proving to be really good. I know it's too early to think of a trade (in case of injury), but Edwards is too talented to be playing so few minutes. But at least they have both players for now.

Yes, given that injuries do occur, having Iriafen, Austin and Edwards -- not to mention Dolson -- is not a bad way to be for now.
Plus, before you know it, rosters are going to blow up all over the league.. The Mystics, with a lot of players on original contracts, will be in good shape and having young depth will be a positive, whether from roster stability or entertaining trades (for players or draft choices).

Good place to be for the Mystics. I'm sure AE will get time....

I have talked about some potential trades for Aaliyah Edwards that I think make sense.

Washington is just stacked at her position. But they are desperate for guards. And the contracts need to match. So, I assume you can trade Aaliyah for anyone on a rookie contract. Edwards for Leite. Or Edwards for Jacy Sheldon are some obvious swaps to me. Washington can at least call teams and see what guards they can get in return for Aaliyah.

I get why you WANT Leite, but we don't want to lose her. We'll have Temi back later this week, then Rupert after Eurobasket, so I think we'll have enough firepower at the 5. Nothing at all against Edwards, who I'd love to get! Just don't want to lose Carla, KT's "baby."

Yeah, Washington loses nothing by asking though; that’s my point. But golden state probably instantly hangs up on them.

And missed two games for personal reasons - perhaps convening with DB?

With that lead you and I could have been on the floor.

WNBA rosters will be changing as players trickle back from Europe. What I'm looking for over the next couple of weeks includes:

The Dallas Wing - they begin a four-game home stand and will have an opportunity to indicate the degree to which they are evolving. Of the three bottom dwelling teams in the w Dallas would appear to have the greatest opportunity to rise to the top of the bottom. This 4 game homestand willl I think give Dallas an opportunity to provide a Denny Green moment

I can actually identify with Dallas fans on two levels.

During the long tenure of CTT at Arizona State University hope sprang eternal as her above average squads challenged the elite in the Pac 10/12. And there were those occasional victories over Stanford, Oregon, and Oregon State that kept the fires burning. In fact on some level I think my appreciation for Sun Devil victories surpasses the 11 Husky championships based upon the metric of frequency.

And the less said about the second level the dark March through the valley of despair made me both appreciate the previous decades of Sun Devils success and prepared me now for unrelenting optimism in the Molly Miller era

Wing fans I think I am part and parcel and one of you.

And on that topic of despair followed by the potential for Sunshine I am looking to the Mercury. His players love him. The ownership pays him. He now approaches seven games over 500. (I believe Cheryl Reeves is 150 plus games over a 500). I would ask for equal pay for equal work if I were her.

The Mercury defeated a depleted Liberty squad and are now in the midst of an extended rest before a return match against the Liberty. It doesn't appear that Jones will be available and while Sabrina will certainly be back it's unclear whether the German will be finished with her European obligations. Oddly enough early Vegas odds have the Liberty favored. The Mercury continue three out of four at home against the Aces before going on the road to take on Paige and the enigma that are the Dallas wing. That game matching the million dollar coach with the former video coordinator will prove whether or not one can actually avoid the L in Dallas.

That's a game I have circled on my calendar.

Well, well, well. This should make @TheFarmFan (aka our BY Bahalla stan) very happy. :)

Started from the bottom, now my whole team here...
