Finally over. Diggins' shot at the buzzer rolled off the rim, almost had 3 OT. 108-106 final. I don't think either team subbed at all during either OT session, huge minutes for all the starters.

27 for Jackson, 22 for Plum, 21 each for Stevens and Hamby.

37 for Nneka, 18 for Diggins, 15 for Wheeler, 14 for Gabby.

Gabby's stat line included 8 assists and 5 steals. She leads the W in steals, with 2.5 spg. Atkins is 2nd with 1.9, Paige and Phee are next with 1.8 spg.

What a great night for basketball with some surprising results! New York losing to Connecticut! Wow. That was New York's 3rd straight loss. Sure the Liberty was shorthanded but that is no excuse because had they won, we would have heard about how they were shorthanded but still won. Hats off to Connecticut, especially Marina Mabrey and our own Olivia Nelson-Odoa. ONO probably had one of her best games so far this season. Well done, ONO!

Seattle/Los Angeles! Now that was the GAME!! I know the media likes to focus on some of these younger players but these vets like Dearica Hamby, Azura Stevens, Kelsey Plum, Nneka Ogwumike, Skylar Diggins, Erica Wheeler, and Gabby Williams, are the heart of the WNBA! To see players like Plum and Ogwumike playing the full game. You gotta give them their flowers. Hats off to the vets of the League.

For me, my favorite game to watch was the Golden State/Chicago , matchup. I have always been a fan of Veronica Burton (Big Ten). She is a just a joy to watch. Grit and Grind game. She does not get the respects she deserves. I am quickly becoming a fan of Janelle Salaun as well!! She is another member of this talented rookie class that is playing well. Golden State, even though they were playing shorthanded, continue to play well and win. That is a testament to the coach and the players. Hard work beats talent when talent does not work hard. Golden State is one of the hardest working teams out there. They are just relentless! I love watching that team play.

I think I said it recently, Nneka is an ageless wonder. She isn't showing the slightest signs of slowing down or losing anything in her game. She's 35 and in her 14th season. She appears to have some good years left and is going to continue climbing the career records. Already Top 10 in scoring and rebounding. Not a stretch to see her getting in the Top 5 in both.

Well said! Nneka continues to play at a high level.

One thing I forgot to add. In that Seattle/Los Angeles game last night, we all know Skylar likes to drive. She is a physical player. Not afraid of the contact. That rascal played 43 minutes and not one free throw attempt. Coach Quinn in her post game mentioned the same thing. It was strange for Skylar not to get to the line.

Because I feel like many players and coaches complain about this, I would find it helpful if someone could point to specific plays to illustrate where they're getting robbed by non-calls. Overall free throw attempts were pretty even between the Storm and the Sparks so it's not like there was one sided reffing across the board. Again, not saying she wasn't robbed, but I'd prefer to see a specific replay than talk in abstraction.

I agree 100% with this. Different example that most UConn fans will recall - games against UCF back in the day when Coach Abe was at the helm were ugly like rugby scrums. UConn plays tight defense but works super hard not to foul. UCF played overly physical and dirty in the opinion of many. You would expect in a game for them to get called for like 40 fouls to UConn's 10, but it never worked out that way.

The mantra of coaches in situations like that was "the refs will never call all the fouls so just go out and hold, hit, push, elbow, grab etc.". I think that's buII$hit and if 2 players foul out in the first quarter, you bet your @ss that the team will stop fouling.

Back to the W, some teams just DO foul more. Others spend a lot of time playing tight defense mostly without fouling. I suspect that the better teams will be called for less fouls because the lesser teams try to be more physical to "even things up". Quinn needs to send a tape to the head of the refs with every example she is talking about and not just whine that "Skyler didn't get any calls". There was a pretty horrible foul call on Gabby after the Wheeler/Plum fiasco where Gabby played incredible defense, went straight up with her arms vertical, and was called for the foul. Yuck.

Side note - that out of bounds play where Wheeler tapped the ball while on defense and it was obvious to everyone with eyes that it bounced off Plum's hip and went out of bounds. But the call was not overturned. The announcers were speechless and one even commented "well I guess the refs are just opposed to overturning the call of one of their coworkers". That's complete crap as well.

This is one of the downsides to more viewership and attention to the league. Really bad reffing is going to be way more noticed and talked about. I hope the league does something about it.

I am horrible! I got the Indiana/Dallas game on the big screen...muted. I got the Golden State/Chicago game on my laptop, with sound. On my phone I got the New York/Connecticut game on. Then there is my iPad, where I got the Phoenix/Atlanta game going. Multitasking at its finest :) ;)

Thought it was just me. We complain yearly about scheduling and nothing changes. 8 teams (out of 13) playing at the exact same time is insane.

This is a first. WNBA delayed for LaCrosee and now moved to a different channel due to LaCrosee match/game being in OT.

Likely will be top 5 in both by the end of next season. A few more good years and she could be top 2-3 in both categories

Lynx up 67-33 at the half. Kayla McBride 8-8 from 3 so far with 24 points. I don't think I've ever seen a stat line like that in the W.

Minnesota beats Vegas by 53. Phee goes out with a foot injury late in the 3rd while her team was up by 43 points. Leaving any of your starters out there with a 40+ point lead is a questionable decision by Reeve. This was such an avoidable injury. No reason to keep your stars in the game in a 44 game season with a brutal travel schedule and minimal days where you're not playing, traveling, or recovering for a game. Give your starters a rest when you can. I hope the injury isn't severe.

How did Vegas get this bad this fast? It's stunning. Is Gray pretty much done? Is it age, or did she never really recover from that foot injury that took her out at the end of their second Championship run? She's certainly never been the same since, and it's almost 2 years now. One good game notwithstanding, I feel justified in saying Bell is simply not a WNBA starter caliber player. Of course neither was Stokes, and that went on for quite a while.

Kayla McBride went off today! 8 straight made 3-point shots! Her, Phee, Shepard, Hiedeman were huge today. Just every shot went in. I think in the first half, the Lynx shot 60% from the field and an outstanding 70% from 3-point range. Shooting like that, it is a wrap. The downside of this game, we were up 30 and at one point 40 points, Phee should have been resting on the bench. No point for her to be out there. Would that have prevented her injury? Who knows. But when you are up 30 plus, in the 3rd, it does not look good when your best player. Your key player goes down with an injury. You gotta sit your key player(s). I just hope that Napheesa is okay and nothing too serious where a little rest and some days off helps.

And, if I saw correctly, Diamond Miller didn't play -- coach's decision? Or was that an incorrect listing by the WNBA boxscore? In any case, I agree that no starters should've been in there....heck, Hammon took hers out before Minnesota did!

Sun Rumored To Be Sold, Moved to Boston for 2027 Season
Reported by ESPN (see link), this move would have to be approved by the WNBA Board of Governors (teams just can't move themselves). The potential buyer is a minority owner of the Celtics and he has agreed to spend an additional $100 million for a practice facility.

Yeah. Diamond did not play today. Not sure what is going on with that situation.

I hope it goes through. The Sun need a makeover.

If I were the Vegas organization, with everyone basically being a free agent this off-season I would clean house. I would try to keep both Wilson and Young, and then build a brand new team around them.

Posted this prior to my coastal getaway: I'd very much look into a new front office and would have some serious talks with Coach Hammon about how she'd run a different kind of team. She coached a team with a core at their individual and/or collective peak: What about a new, crew? Is she right for that?

Need to start looking at hammon. She may not be the coach that people think she it.

I will say, I've been so, so impressed with Natalie Nakase that even if Becky is still a good coach, losing her and Ty in the same season is a lot. Coach Nat relies on her assistant coaches a ton for scouting and player development and multiple players have spoken about how much they've helped the team improve, so by extension, one can only assume Becky is also deep in a coaching staff rebuild.

That said, I have not been impressed with either Becky's on-court decisions or her off-court handling of this season, but if either Jackie and A'ja want to play in front of 18,000 adoring fans every home game, they know where to find us during free agency, so I can't complain too much about that.... =D

Vegas's defense today on K-Mac when she was 7-7 from 3pt and had just nailed back to back threes on the last two possessions.
