I feel like Dallas is a small trade away from being good. Maybe ppl are down on them because of their game vs Vegas. But they have a lot of talent. Paige Maddy,Dijonai, Arike should be good enough to compete. I just worry about them defensively. But, like don't let Minnesota do something crazy like wave Dorka ( they got Jessica Sheppard back) and then Dallas signs and presumably starts her (a UConn fan can dream). I think Washington will be a lot worse than Dallas.
As you should.

Last year they do displayed a consistent incompetence defensively. I'm not certain that there has been significant defensive improvement up and down the roster.

Led by Arike this is a score first mentality club. With the changes to the roster this is clearly a bottom tier team.

If the Liberty have either Burke or Clark starting many games they are in serious trouble. Neither of them are really good.
They both need to get a lot better to help the Liberty.
On the flip side, both Davis and Gardner looked pretty good. They might be able to survive the losses of BLH and Kayla Thornton.

Two players (that I support) who really, really need to take that next step to help their respective teams become contenders are Aliyah [Boston] and Rhyne [Howard]. It's early, but so far--not seeing enough growth. During today's preseason game, Rhyne took 11 threes (out of 12 shots, making only two) and Aliyah missed chippies and seemed to get overpowered at times by Bri Jones.

By contrast, Pao was FANTASTIC!!!!! Dream fans will love her. If they don't, I'll force them to.

Minnesota has like 4 good centers. I really don't know what they do. I think Pili has played well despite her being 0-4 at half. She's not lost defensively, has moved well in terms of conditioning. Jess Shepherd looks good. Marieme Badiene, I apologize for not being familiar with your game. She looks great. And then Dorka is overseas. I think Dorka and Badiene may be impacted by Eurobasket but I don't know how u cut either

Minnesota looked really good tonight. If Jess Shepherd and Diamond Miller are for real I think they could definitely give the Aces a run for their money again. Wonder if Badiane has a shot at making the roster. I think I keep her over Pili

And Chicago looked like an entirely different team. Fantastic to see Rachel Banham has found a team that can utilize her skill set.

Kudos to the Minnesota t-shirt tossers who really made an effort to get up into the bowl. Several kids got t-shirts that were 20 or 25 rows up from the court.

We gotta teach Grace the Electric Slide. :D Other than that, I love that she is here in Minnesota. Glad to see Shepherd back in Minnesota as well. We shall see what develops over the next few days. I can't wait until Friday!!

In 24 minutes, Shep was a +11 and nearly had a triple double with 10 points, 8 rebounds and -- this was a ! -- 9 assists, from a forward.
Before she got injured and then went overseas, she and Collier played well off each other. Add Smith and that's a pretty formidable bunch of forwards. Dorka, get back soon!

I don’t think the wings are ready for the season to start. I think it will be rough for them.

From the Lynx website - MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Lynx today announced today that Dorka Juhász will miss the 2025 WNBA season. Juhász, currently playing in the Italian league finals with Famila Schio, plans to rest and recover after playing year-round for the last two years.

I remember! Those two DID play well off each other. Once they got adjusted to each other's game, things took off! I am excited to see how it all plays out for the Lynx this season. We got great guard play in Williams, McBride, Hiedeman. Our Post and Wings are solid in Phee, Smith, and now Shep back with us. How Coach Reeve blends the bench rotation is going to be huge. I love our chances this season and it is an odd season too! 2025 could be title #5 for the Lynx!

Man! My heart goes out to Ashley. Watching that young lady put in the work over the years, especially during the summer months, and not see her getting any legit minutes, a legit contract, or land on a team long term, just hurts. Because we all know that there are some players who SHOULD be in the W and some players we are like "You made the roster, but X player didn't?" Just makes you side eye a lot. But wishing players like Ashley all the best. Keep your head up.

Dorka, good move on her part. The Lynx roster is loaded this season and with Jessica Shep back in the Twin, that front court is going to be crowded. Minutes are going to be iffy. Stay overseas. Make some extra coin. Stay safe and healthy. I know I am going to miss seeing her on the sideline this season but I get it.

Himmmmmm. ... Bye, bye Berger?

I think Badiane looked better than Pili so, perhaps she is gone?

Reese seems two favor vets on her roster over newcomers
I got a feeling we are keeping Berger. The way Grace has bonded with the team and coaching staff, I think she is safe. Although I did think that my boy Mike Neighbors was going to stay coaching in his home state of Arkansas. Just to fix things a little. Only to see him resign...things could change with Grace and Minnesota :D

But seeing how she interacts with the coaching staff during these preseason games, I think she has won over Coach Reeve.

It is going to be interesting to see what develops this week in terms of roster spots. I would hate to be a WNBA GM right now. Holy smokes!
