I sort of agree. But, as I may have said in another thread, Azzi was effectively a co-leader with Nika three seasons ago until she was injured. I suspect she doesn’t want to be the vocal leader in on-court huddles. But she is an inspirational leader in every other respect. Can KK supply the voice while Azzi and Sarah supply the ‘muscle’? In her first two seasons, Paige wasn’t really the vocal leader on the floor and ceded that role to Evina and Nika.
You're talking about PG duties and that isn't necessarily the leadership roll we're talking about here. We don't have a Nika on the team and I would prefer keeping Azzi as our SG. So far I haven't seen KK in a vocal leadership role. You are wrong about Paige. She was quite vocal when it was called for. ;)

I’m talking about who leads. That’s often the PG but not always. It’s also often who’s the loudest, but not always. Seeing a game in person, I’m always struck by how loud some of the players are. Communication is key and the best teams tend to be quite vocal. I never saw Nika play in person. But even on TV you could hear her voice above the rest.

Azzi and Nika shared the PG duties at the beginning of that season and Azzi was generally considered an NPoY favorite before the injury. I don’t think she had a problem with the role, though she left the shouting largely to Nika.

You seem to think you need to educate me on the game itself and on UConn women's basketball (the team or it's individual players). Trust me when I tell you that isn't necessary. There isn't anything you can tell me about this team or it's players since 1995. I began playing this (organized) game at the age of 8 and continued well into my 40s. I've watched every game possible on TV (live or replay). Unfortunately, since I live in Los Angeles, I have never been able to attend a game in person for one reason or another. I'm 85 years old, have been a member of the BoneYard on and off for many, many years under one handle or another. I respect your position on this matter, I just don't agree with most of it in this regard. Okay?

I hear you and accept your sage disagreement.

When you said “well into my 40s” I thought I was dealing with a young whippersnapper. But as I read on I realized you have about a decade and a half on me. So I bow in respect. I am also stranded too far from Storrs here in Santa Fe. It’s a struggle just to figure out how to stream the games each year. It’s been a couple decades at least since I’ve been able to see our team in person and longer than that since I’ve been able to make the pilgrimage to Gampel.

It's nice to know about your situation. Much respect and appreciation.

hope u get the opportunity to get to the USC
game in Dec !!’

Thank you kind sir, I hope so as well.
fortunate enough to have season tickets
when u see the game live from the lower level
u will be amazed at how physical the game is
and the speed at which it’s played
the change from 30 years ago is huge
good luck on getting there!!

Again, I am quite well aware of the changes made in the game over the last 30 years. I have attended many USC and UCLA women's games live and have been fortunate to have seats on the lower level. I just haven't been able to see UConn play live.

I wanted Jersey last year and would love her this year. Too bad her career has been squandered so far by making her play out of position.

My new transfer ranking wishlist:
1. Serah Williams
2. Serah Williams
3. Serah Williams
4. Serah Williams
5a. Aaliyah Guyton
5b. Jersey Wolfenbarger
Well Serah, its up to you...

Or they don't use Instagram ....
The only reason to worry that KK and Ash weren't following Heckel (maybe they are now?) is that they are the two most likely to be impacted by her if she comes.

I figured this didn't really need to be spelled out.

Portal is closed. I still hope we add someone. Either a big or a point guard.
