It is kind of damning that this is her list. What went on at Rutgers?
She was like this before Rutgers. She wants to play for a "lesser" program, or a minor one that isn't very well acknowledged.

Louisville looks like her best bet.

How is this list damning considering she's transferring out of Rutgers who have been struggling to get back on solid footing since Stringer's retirement? Most of these programs were ranked during the season and were competitive this season.

.-.
Will Ciezki stick around at Indiana? Looking at pretty much a complete rebuild. W/ Parrish and McNeil-Moore using up eligibility, Garzon in the portal, I think Striplin is out of eligibility. Most of the role players fleeing. Almost nothing there to build around.

As frustrated as I get with players just jumping ship for seemingly no reason, I get even more frustrated at coaches who run players off for reasons that may or may not be good ones.

Ole Miss loses half their team who has no eligibility left and most returners are in the portal. Does Yo plan to just bring in ten new faces? That's called playing pickup or putting together as AAU team, not building a program. The same could be said for many other programs now. I know coaches have always cut players loose for reasons, not all of them legitimate, but to me if the player is actively engaged on the team and progressing academically, then they should not be allowed to discontinue their scholarship just because a shiny new toy is out there.

It sickens me this is happening on both fronts.

This is what I find odd, considering who no longer have eligibility.

Yup...the Ole Miss moves certainly have the appearance of Coach Yo showing these people an one-way open door...out.
As noted, one sees this here and there (even nice guy Kenny Brooks apparently just brushed someone out), but this whole-sale sweep sure seems extreme.

Teri Moren runs a tight ship and has lost a player or two here or there, but this is a whole-scale fire drill. Wow.
And to think they just played S. Carolina as tough as the next team.
Did the players think that without Chloe or Sydney, there was no chance for next year (which doesn't say a lot about their own self-confidence) or maybe there's something about Moren that was wearing thin and those two leaders kept the ship together?

At this point, it looks like IU will be joining Penn State and Rutgers (whose season just ended at Buffalo in the WNIT) as total rebuilds (if possible).

Wait a minute!

Didn’t Coach Yo hire a poisonous male assistant coach st the beginning of this season? Former Syracuse (?) coach who ran off a bunch of gals with abuse and harassment allegations?? Quentin Hillsmen ?).

Perhaps Coach You didn’t show them the door. Perhaps the door just unlocked at season’s end and these gals escaped

While many of us may suspect this is as a possible reason, there is no tangible proof out there to confirm this.

Yup yup and yup.... Rumors are she has some big time transfers coming in. I'm still in shock that these young ladies want to play their with him there

Ole Miss had 2 top 100 players in 2020, 2 in 2023, and 1 in 2025 classes. The activity looks comparable to Pitino at St. John's, where he's said he (probably) won't recruit HS players anymore, and go all in with a pro free agent system. It will be interesting to see if Yo can turn this into a winning system...

Okay, I've defended Adia, but I think I'm done. She simply cannot retain talent. I think Pueyo and Reese are the only players that have stuck with her through their entire careers. Everybody else left.
I just wanted to come back to this. What do you think is next for Arizona. It sounded from her final press conference, that Adia wants to bring in some veteran players to win now. I did a quick glance and it doesn't look like they have any top 100 HS players coming in.

I agree with a post earlier about Barnes substitution patterns and rotations. I also agree that Arizona actually does seem like an underrated place to play where they get pretty good fan support. I hope they can absorb the blow of losing 3 starters

Anyone else get a feeling Garzon might wind up at Kentucky? I hear they have some openings.

One could argue 4 starters, although the line up was flexible. Beh, Cunningham and Williams were virtually always starters, but Jones was also a starter at times. As was Swann, the main one I don't want to lose, as was Paris, as was Rolf. Rolf and Paris have upsides, but also negatives. Dew was really an ineffectual scorer before her injury just before the end of the season. Reportedly she did the "other" things well, but ultimately Arizona was scoring challenged.

Adia was ripped in the paper. 2 years ago she said she was abandoning bringing in portal players "over" existing players, a key to success was building a "team" and she was all in on recruits (Williams, Cunningham, Dew and Jones). Then, she essentially said after this season that takes too long and I'm going to bring in transfers to win now. Oh my word.

Adia isn't an unpleasant coach, she has high expectations but most of the players like her. I doubt there is much money here to keep anyone who might be disappointed in playing time or team results. Sad but true.

Game plans appear excellent with the only question being half time adjustments. Jury out. But at issue, really, is the make-up of her teams, possibly affected by the departures, of course. Odd substitution patterns were always, in essence, either caused by or resulted in players not being in their best position. We had 2 players one year who played the 1, 2 or 3 as needed, with only one of the positions being what they were good at, per Adia anyhow.

Don't know the future. Depends I suspect on her contract situation. Fans (generally) like her but fans (that I heard talking / mumbling in the stands at the last game) are frustrated. So we shall see.

Excuse me if this was posted (just so many posts on this thread), but Stanford Coach Kate Paye has said that her team has no one declaring for the portal and that she does not intend to bring any transfers in. Only newcomers will be incoming freshmen (and she has a good class).
(seen on a few threads, including Raoul.)
Oops

.-.
Didn't the Stanford coach say they weren't losing anyone??

Oops

Not oops. This has been known all season. Harriel redshirted her freshman year and the Stanford deal is guaranteed 4 years, fifth only if there's a scholarship. There wasn't, so she participated in senior day and we all expected her to grad transfer. We wish her the best, and I'm excited to see where she lands.

Ole Miss must be paying well . . .

Or she's opting to play along with the coach who originally recruited her as Hillsman is the AC.

This isn't surprising to me however. I've seen him in Toronto during the Globl Jam events the last few years with Lattimore's manager/handler. Just surprised it happened now as I thought this is where she was headed last season.

Thanks for clarifying!
