Does she meet the criteria however? She is a junior. From what I recall, the only talk of anyone who qualified to declare early was Betts and she's decided not to.

She turns 22 this year so yes she 'technically' does but even your top players generally stay all 4 years regardless.

I love her game. She's super efficient, has great size. It kinda hurts when these program staples leave. But she's been there for 4 years and her coach left somewhat abruptly. She's the type of player who could fit anywhere. It's so unfortunate she got hurt Pilis 5th year.

Age is only one component though. There is the education component with respect to Johnson getting her Bachelor degree or being a few months away from completion.

No, but a valuation is an estimate. That's it. No different than getting an appraisal on a home you're selling. Whether you get that amount is determined by the market and you may not get close to what the appraisal value was.

For all we know she could have gotten $200k or $5M. On3 has no clue and is putting out this valuation to gain clicks and traffic to their sites. Heck, look at how they're using font sizes to "include" the word but make it barely visible. They know people will focus on the larger text and gloss over the rest.

Everything is speculative. That's all I'm pointing out.

If you followed Chavez's recruitment, On3 was pretty much the only recruiting site putting out any information whatsoever; on March 7, they tweeted that the new asking price was $1.5 million.

Personally, I'd prefer if they didn't because it causes more headaches than it helps. No different than the lack of standards regarding NIL agents who have no clue what they're talking about and giving bad advice for a commission. It's poisoned the well and it will never be fixed.

And to your point about On3 being the only source putting anything out, that doesn't prove anything. They see reactions, they'll continue to push out what drives traffic to their sites. It's still speculation because they're providing third hand information without any verifiable source to back it up.

Bottom line is you can't disprove what they're stating. Folks can believe it, or not.

True, but folks also need to understand a valuation isn't confirmation of actual contract value. On3 does a poor job to establish that in how they put out their information on social media.
 
I subscribed to Skim Mulkey's discord today. There's a ton of rumors in there in terms of portal entrants and destinations. Also ballpark figures for $ amounts certain players demand/will get. Worth a spin if anyone wants to go a little further down the rabbit hole.

Shooting 50% overall and 45% from three, particularly when launching 200+ treys, can catch your attention. The 5 rpg and 3 apg also catch my attention, as does her overall court awareness and hustle.
