I kinda like this. She's really good. Was playing at a high level before kiki rice came back from injury and consistently saw minutes decrease. I do feel if she could just tough it out next year by her junior year she would have the keys playing alongside baby Betts. But she's a starting point guard for sure.
I don't think it's just about playing time. I think it must be very difficult for a student to play in the BIG 10 as part of a California team. To give you an idea, I've attached a map of the BIG 10. There's only one exit that's a short distance away, Oregon, which doesn't seem too far, is 850 miles away, so I'll leave you to imagine the others. Two other top-quality Freshman from the other Californian BIG 10 team, USC, entered the portal at Heckel and Howell, although their playing time was far from .

I liked her game, and you are right about her time decreasing once Rice returned. Interestingly, I think Iowa would be a great fit for her with Olsen gone and Guyton opting for the portal. They need a point guard.

Without googling her, I believe she that went to Duke first and transferred to Illinois.
Yup. She was on the bench this season not dressed out for all or most of it. Assuming she had an injury, although I never saw anything officially stating that.

Maybe, but Stanford has had only one willing portal entrant so far (Heal), and the unwilling portal entrant (Harriel) signed up for SMU, which has nearly as much lengthy travel as Stanford. Given how much top recruits seem to expect playing time from day 1, she probably wasn't excited about being mostly a bench warmer until late 2027. So I think I probably vote with @jdote33 on this one.

Aarnisalo was the backup point this year, but next year she is probably 3rd behind Leger-Walker and Rice. That's a long wait for someone with starting aspirations and talent.

I'm getting Bollin and Bostic from Illinois mixed up. How is Bollin a grad transfer when she's only played 2 seasons? Well, really 1 season +8 games her Fr. year. She should have a bunch of eligibility left.

Okay, I'm really confused now. Bollin played in 6 games for Duke her Fr. year between 11/7-12/8. I'm assuming she was injured, she didn't play again until 2/9. Then one more appearance 3/18. Those 2 games in February and March she played a grand total of 5 minutes. Did she really burn a red shirt year for 5 minutes of PT? Had she only played in 6 games at the beginning of the year it would've been no problem, but coming back and playing a few games at the end of the year might've messed it up. Weird.

Bolin wasn't out because of injury for most of her time at Duke. She really struggled to adjust to the college game. She missed the last 1-2 yrs of high school bball with injuries and I think she never really recovered from that.

Pretty sure she was never injured at Duke. I think Kara just never played her. If she’s graduating in May, then she would have to enter as a grad transfer, I think.

I could see a possible Vandy connection for Bollin, though in terms of roster construction, it's hard to figure. The Dores already have a couple of 6'2-6'3 wings who aren't quite quick enough to thrive in coach Ralph's pressure defense. I don't think Bollin is an inside banger.

Still, there is some connection between Vandy and the Bay State Jaguar organization where Bollin's mother, Laurie, serves as organization president. One of the Dores' incoming freshmen, Ava Jaye Black, played for Bay State, along with Kentucky commit Kaylen Carroll, who also visited Vandy. One of the country's top '28 recruits, Ella Peper, also plays for them.

There is also a younger Bollin girl who is supposed to be pretty good, so, if Shay wanted to come to Vandy, I could see Shea giving it serious consideration.

Right now, Vandy's roster is very tight with 13 players, and there is at least some interest in a couple portal players, so it could be there's no space to add Miss Bollin even if both sides are interested. She'had quite a bit of injury trouble in her younger years, too.

Okay, I got it now. She didn't play at all this year for Illinois, but she has been there 2 years. Should still have 2 years of eligibility though, right?

Now 2 scholarships available for Bruins. And they'll probably have another transfer out or two.
Avary Cain reportedly transferring out (HG #26 in 2024 class).
3 scholly available

The other Boleyn girl? Sorry, couldn't resist.
Anne one!
