2025 Transfer Portal, part 2

good point ... transfers were going so wild, I forgot about, you know, actual recruiting news
Hasn't this been a busy week for you? Not to mention, you're thinking of creating that thread about top college prospects and WNBA success. It happens ;)

I think whoever lands Emely Rodriguez will be very lucky. She is a substantial talent.
Some buzz today from non-Iowa insider that Emely may be leaning towards Hawkeyes.

Iyana Moore from Vandy seems to indicate on IG that she is considering Notre Dame, UCLA, Duke, and Texas as her potential landing spots.

It kind of makes sense. Brenda is like the anti-Blue Devil: recruit over your HS recruits, treat the portal as a revolving door, give your players the green light to make their own offense, make defense optional, and watch your players have 10x the professional success of your former rival down in Durham.

Here I was about to treat you to Cheerwine and BIscuitville if you ever passed through NC... then I read that last part

.-.
I think TDF is still upset over 2006.

I'll be upset about that until the day I die....or until DWBB wins its 1st national title About to go to bed salty over the thought.

Undoubtedly, he holds grudges for an infinite length of time.

Does 45 years count as infinite? Darn you Purdue. If I could put poxes on schools..... I definitely would to about 20 or so.

One of the most random destinations for a Duke transfer that I can remember, figured she would end up back on the West Coast.
Trading Cheerwine, BBQ, Biscuitville, and cheap tobacco for flat terrain and and farm animals I wish her the best.

Wait wait wait. What part of that is not true, and other than the last line, what part is slanderous towards Duke? My point was that somehow Brenda seems to produce so many successful pro players even though her "system" is generally less successful than Kara's has been in recent seasons.

How many players have graduated from Maryland since 2020 and play in the W? $$$ talks and if you have it and recruit other teams' players 365 days a year, you can get good players. You can also lose them when you pay a current player significantly less than a new one and they find out. Not sure how much development happens at Maryland.....

Coach Friese has said in previous interviews that Maryland didn't have much in the way of NIL until this past season. Not sure whether money really talked until this past season based on that statement.

And, based on the photos in her story, she has already made visits to all 4 schools.

Yet they've only signed two transfers this offseason. Two good ones though.

TDF knows the above statement is true. But seeing it spelt out like this causes him more pain. But I have no doubt that he’ll recover from the disappointment, regardless of how long it takes.

Interesting. But was it truly NIL or Maryland's reputation after bouncing back from the previous season? Rhetorical question as we'll never really know.

Players were transferring before the NIL. My daughter played against Kiah Gillespie in high school. Saw her in Dallas during the final 4. There is a lot more going on than NIL.

Fully aware, as noted in a previous post where I replied in an earlier post to someone else who gave the impression that NIL money had impact with respect to Maryland and the portal. (see below).

I doubt it but can they make a late push for Heckel? Unless they do something interesting and put yardini at point, which actually allows Saylor to start at the 4 if healthy. I'm talking myself into this unconventional line up. But what are they planning to do at center?

White smoke has been seen coming from the roof of Purcell Pavilion
Da Pope says...."it's a guard!"

In actuality, Niele Ivey has landed Iyana Moore from Vandy. She played just under 1000 minutes for Shea Ralph and chances are she'll play even more for the Irish. Hadn't realized that she took 189 three's last year (34%), so Hannah Hidalgo who took 150+ of her own last year (hitting 40%) will have another long-range threat to work with. I'm guessing Ms. DeJesus will rotate with these two at the guards, while returning big guard KK Bransford might bump up to the wing position.

First of all, two great signings today by the Midwest schools.

As for Maryland, I think they'll go with the 13 players they have (unless Brenda and Samuels come to a mutual agreement and sign).

They are going to hope that their talented JUCO Momodu and talented redshirt freshman Williams can hold up in the post this season. The Terps have an identical situation at PG.

Chloe Sotell from StaMford CT transferring from Pepperdine to Mizzou!

Went to Montverde ACademy in FL after 2 years I think at Stamford High

Congrats on the nice pick up! What's with the low two-point shooting percentage (37.5%) that isn't much higher than her three-point shooting percentage (35.4%)?

Am I the only one who thinks this is a bad look?

We got overstuffed working dogs, chubby chickens, overweight tigers, too many volunteers... Meanwhile the sisters of the poor over in West Durham have spent this spring striking out like Dave Kingman
