Assuming performance is on par with expectations/last year, I think nearly all the games are going to have healthy crowds and overall noticeable improvements in total attendance YoY. Slight bummer half of the home games are in colder November, but the quality of opponent will help cancel out the less desirable weather for more casual fans. As fun of a quirk as last year's homestand was, I think there was some crowd fatigue to give up 6 straight weekends at the Rent. A more equally dispersed home schedule will only help as long as the momentum continues. This game is gonna really draw.
Not automatically I believe, Only the 4 conference champion and the highest ranked G5 conference champion get automatic bids. But we could get an at large bid if the committee decides we get one (it would be up to them), that is what I understand.if undefeated team, do we qualify for playoffs?
Agreed it would not be automatic, likely would have to finish in the top 10 or 11 when everything shakes out with the auto bids. Considering the schedule, unless there is some significant outperformance from our opponents, like a Duke v. Syracuse ACC Championship and one or two of the G5 teams winning their conferences, I would say it is not possible for UConn to make the CFP. However, I DOUBLE DOG DARE them to prove me wrong. Not automatically I believe, Only the 4 conference champion and the highest ranked G5 conference champion get automatic bids. Give me the Pop Tarts Bowl, the Sickos Committee may implode with that pairingNo, but we would probably be rewarded a decent bowl.
Our schedule of strength would not merit a playoff spot.
I love the optimism but we are way out over our skis here. Winning football games is hard. Almost no game for UConn is a given.if undefeated team, do we qualify for playoffs?
wat is the most prestigious non-CFP bowl?
Pinstripe would be a great goal for next year after how well the Fenway wentI would prefer the Fenway or Pinstripe, quite frankly. Either one is easy to get to.
I haven't been to either form of Yankee stadium. Mom and dad want to see me anywaysPinstripe would be a great goal for next year after how well the Fenway went
It’s not an honor. It’s a decent game against a mid major.it's an honor to play the air force academy! and at home to boot! thank you falcons
hopefully we get a flyover from the national guard.
go UConn
The undefeated year where they spent their time getting bigger faster stronger. LolYou mean the winless year?
It does. But at least it is not 6 straight home games over 7 weeks like this past year. The home slate blows but it give us an opportunity to ramp up going into next year where the schedule is amazing.
This is the part I take exception with. And UConn was exceptionally lucky to take a team that got blown out in its first game last year, had a very easy second opponent, and the team suddenly gelled.
That guy is the most negative UConn fan there is. From his history of posting he clearly does follow the school's athletic programs but his comments are very close to what would be expected from a troll, no praise for anything good that may have been accomplished, magnified spotlight when something bad happens. This is the part I take exception with.
It wasn't luck that made the team gel. That's in large part due to the coaching staff and atmosphere. And we have roughly the same coaching staff as last year and a better atmosphere going into this year than last year.
It's actually MORE likely that we gel this year...
Perhaps, and a point that I perhaps should have made too. But this environment is WAY more volatile than it used to be and that has introduced a lot of uncertainty. So setting goals is a lot more problematic and may no longer be as meaningful as it once was. This is the part I take exception with.

I did not take that as a negative. He made a valid point. Unless of course you were talking about me.That guy is the most negative UConn fan there is. Take his posts with a grain of salt.

Coulda fooled me. Normally one quotes the person one disagrees with.Of course I was talking about you.
I challenge you to say one positive thing about the football program.
You're an analyst?Coulda fooled me. Normally one quotes the person one disagrees with.
You are a fan boy. I am an analyst. We have fundamentally different ways of looking at things. In this case the very idea of posting what 2025 record will trigger your approval or disapproval, your happiness or unhappiness is fundamentally silly. And besides, no one cares.
