2025 Schedule

As far as I am concerned, we have 10 games that are locked in. The UMass game is now in peril because they have scheduled a home game against Temple. They are already rumored to be dropping BC (we will get back to them) and will have to drop one more of us, Missouri, or Iowa (all road games).

The following programs have an opening but have not yet scheduled an FCS opponent:
Baylor
Pitt
UL Monroe
Kennesaw State

The above schools are not likely to feature on our schedule next year.

The following programs play in the MW and get to play 13 games if they play Hawaii on the road or are Hawaii:
Hawaii
Utah State
Fresno State
SDSU
Wyoming

I would play anyone of those five but I don't think any will reciprocate.

The following are schools that have an opening and already have an FCS game scheduled or don't usually schedule one:
Boston College
SMU
Air Force
Notre Dame
Southern Miss

If UMass drops us, we will need two games (at least one will need to be a home game).

I want BC. We can play them on the road as part of a home and home with the home game either in 2026 or 2027.

I actually think that is the most likely scenario if UMass stays on our schedule and drops BC.

If UMass is off the schedule, I would want BC (road) and Air Force (home). We need to avoid playing 2 FCS teams.
In regards to the UMass game in peril, I believe at this point it is just a formality of announcement that this game will not happen this year considering the Temple and Bryant games.

Obviously games can be scheduled as late in the calendar as there are openings, but is there a standard date that a team would really like to have its schedule locked in? Has to be before spring practices I would think? Maybe some motion on this front over the winter break, possibly post bowl game.

Pitt in '27 and '28. Have a feeling Rutgers would rather ignore UConn.
We start beating up Rutgers in football and they're looking over their shoulders anticipating a boot from the Big 10. I mean who thought anything coming out of Jersey has any value whatsoever. And to anyone who posts, wait a second I'm from Jersey, thanks for helping reinforce my point.

I just renewed my season tix for 2025 and noticed only 10 games listed on the schedule. I would assume that leaves 2 open games. CCSU is already on so I wouldn't expect another in state foe but has anyone heard what AD David Benedict has been working on to fill the gaps?

No disrespect of you disrespecting yourself but I really liked Donald Brown and other players from NJ. Dan Hurley seems to be pretty popular with UConn fans also. ;)

After seeing the crowd today, would it be wrong to say UConn v BCU at Fenway in November would be a better game day environment than at Alumni Stadium?
I'd love to see UConn fans overrun Alumni Stadium. I went to the last time we played there and we filled our section but I'd love to see us fill more.

My biggest issue with the whole thing is UMass was to be home games for both teams, I’m cool with playing BC, but not at the expense of 5 home games. I think it should be negotiated as a neutral site game so both lose the home game and could negotiate a similar payout for both.

Rumor is that UMass is pushing their '25 game with BC to the 2030s, would love to fill the gap in the schedule next year with the first of a multi-game series with Boston College. Benedict and BC's AD clearly already were able to work something out for the past couple years, time to run it back. Would also still take a matchup with PItt or Rutgers, but have not played them in forever so not sure how much of a relationship there is between decision makers.

My only issue is the ACC refs and their “call center” is that it makes watching the games tough… The Wake game was tainted by the stripes. Duke we has a major call missed that could have changed that game as well.

Based on this, I would rather play 2-3 games Max ACC, and find another conference (like AAC) which we can get a good contest.

Yep.
6 games at Rent
5 Away
1 Neutral (Fenway)
Do the same for BCU
6 at Alumni
5 Road
1 Neutral (Fenway)

ACC refs guarantee an obvious no call pass interference.

Hey, we played our home game there. Now that we're equivalent programs it would be classy to return the gesture. Then again, BCU and classy?
UConn chose to take a payout from Fenway Group to play in Boston, a financial decision for UConn. BC has no reason to return the ‘gesture”.

As a fan I refuse to attend another football game in a baseball stadium.

The layout and overall stadium experience was very poor.

But I didn’t care one bit.

‘Cause I had to look up 2025 and 2026, here are the future schedules

That's a big win if it happens.
If we play AFA in Colorado Springs I hope it’s after a bye week and/or the team gets out there a little early to adapt to the 7,258’ altitude. In my experience, even as a much younger man in pretty good shape, it takes a day or two.

The only way BC can generate any interest is on a novelty basis.

… it’s another great reason to visit a great area (Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, US Olympics museum, etc), and Denver. Beautiful stadium setting against the Rampart Range, shorter history, Cadet Chapel aside less impressive Mid-Century Modernist architecture at AFA vs West Point and Annapolis.

*Falcon Stadium, 2nd highest FBS stadium elevation to #1 Wyoming

Yup. My daughter was married at the Broadmoor. Iconic hotel and location. Took a few years to get my bank account back in shape though.
