2025 NBA Playoffs Thread

Oklahoma City probably won the NBA title tonight. Denver had them on the ropes, but OKC is younger, faster, more athletic, and just better. Denver is unlikely to win 2 in a row. Denver’s supporting cast keeps getting worse. Porter just sucks against teams that can actually defend.

Carlisle is a great coach, because Indiana is not good enough to be in its second conference finals in a row. Knicks/Pacers should be a great series. Knicks are the better team, but Indiana’s youth gives them a shot if they can make it a track meet like Detroit did against the Knicks.

Not sure where to put this, but it's encouraging for Tatum.

Apropos of nothing, but wouldn't it be a hoot if the Celtics provided support for the "Ewing Theory" against the Knicks?

So the Knicks took 20 years off then, even after that, they went right back to torturing their fans, like they have always done since Walt Frazier played for them. They will always stink when it matters most.

It is too bad because just like Boston was better than us we are better than the Pacers. But the NBA wants their owner to finally play in the NBA finals. So the refs are doing their part in making sure that happens.

No reason to watch, Knicks will be getting swept……maybe we win one game but unlikely.

They are what they are. Your problems during the season don't just go away. Knicks have had a lack of focus all year. Carlisle has coached circles around Thibs.

So you only watch them when they win, what kind of fan is that lol. I'll watch but with no expectations and plenty of drinking. It's like game 1 killed me and now I have zero feelings or emotions in my body.

I've been a Knicks fan since a little more than a year before their first title (they won it in 1970) and due to the Clyde/Pearl backcourt, I've always been fantasizing about a backcourt with two guards with the ball handling/passing skill to play point guard and the size/scoring ability play the two.

From about mideay through the 2020-2021 season I began lamenting about what could have been. In the 2018 draft we picked Kevin Knox with the ninth pick whole SGA went at eleven. In 2020 we picked Obbie Toppin at eight while Haliburton was picked at twelve.

At the time each was picked, my feelings on both Knox and Toppin were that they would each be at best a decent role player whole likely would not be a Knick by their second contract. I lamented the possibility of a backcourt with SGA and Haliburton being passed on (before either was viewed at their current level) until ty he past couple seasons when they finally appeared to actually building something.

Oh well, you can't redo the past. Hopefully the front office (which is the first quality front office that Dolan hasn't blown up since he bought the team) can figure out the next step.

I agree I am currently a horrible fan with tons of scar tissue. Game one was probably the worst loss in my history of being a Knicks fan. And like a few of us, I am not a spring chicken so I have watched a ton of playoff losses. I have put my time in on that one.

That game was a rip your heart and like you said left me no longer emotionally invested. I tried watching game two but just could not to do it. I am really not an NBA fan as I do not watch games as a routine.

I am a fan of CBB and the NFL even though I doubt the credibility of today’s NFL game. But it is a an incredible game to watch huge men do incredible things while really putting themselves in peril. CBB well that speaks for itself I watch as many games as I can not only UConn games. I watch baseball but only if the Yankees are playing.

But this Knicks team is just not connected. Unfortunately, I think it starts with OG, who seems to think Jalen gets special treatment. KAT is just a strange dude so that really can’t help team chemistry. You just could not convince me that the Knicks do not have more talent than Indiana. So it comes down to how the team plays together and that comes down to matching the right players with each other and a coach that gets them to play connected and committed to each other. This team seems to finger point after every bad possession. They have bad body language toward each other. So I don’t know were they go from here. Because their core of Jalen, KAT, OG and Bridges are all locked up for a few more years.

I guess I could look at it like I never thought we would beat Boston anyway so the conference finals are like a gift but that is easier to say than do.

Not exactly a revelation, but they need to win tonight. And Mitch better be starting

The hot rumor is they're starting two bigs (Mitch & KAT), making Hart sixth man.

I kind of think this was what they had in mind when they made the deals for Towns & Bridges.

Jeff Teague's viral clip on Brunson looking pretty on point after tonight

I know one thing, I'm not watching game four.

Turned the game off about seven minutes into the second quarter when they were well on their way to getting blown out. Checked the score on my cell phone much later (early fourth quarter, down seven) and told myself I can't watch or it will ruin the mojo (I get exceptionally superstitious watching sports), checked the phone every ten minutes until the game was over.

Now there is a ton of pressure on both teams going into game four; the Knicks can't fall behind 3-1 and the Pacers have a must win or the will have squandered two road wins.

That has been my strategy. Every time I switched back something bad would happen for the Knicks. I just recorded the game. It is much less stressful to watch this Knicks team after you already know the outcome.

Just saw they are the first team ever to come back and win a playoff game when being down 20+ points three times in one post season. Even more amazing is all three have been on the road.

Man it sure would be nice to have someone walk up to Mr. Classless Haliburton and throw that choke sight right back in his face.

Knicks defense sucks, and Pacers offense is so much better then the Celtics, they aren’t tied to analytics they adjust.

You’re genuinely unbearable
Foul after foul after foul ya it's such a great product. Prove to me that the NBA is the best watch out of all the sports instead of clenching your fist and throwing things across the room.

A team in the conference finals not playing a lick of defense is embarrassing can't take ya seriously if there's no defense.

You’re just fabricating statements to argue with yourself. I never once said it is the best watch of all sports.

Literally just don’t watch if you hate it. Stop coming to yap on a message board after hate watching.
