The challenge is that Boston still has to have a team. Kornet has actually looked useful thankfully. They desperately need a more athletic rim protector and rebounder. I think they could really use picks or enough ammo to maybe move up and get a center. Brad has loads of 2nds I believe. I expect Baylor S is going to get a decent look next year and could surprise. Walsh, maybe. The value they'd be looking for is getting under the apron, and under the tax entirely if possible. So we're not gonna see a ton of picks in return unless they ship out Brown and/or White.
So for Jrue it would be something like Powell's expiring and Jordan Miller's non-guaranteed deal to make the numbers work (they'd then work to try to flip Powell to a team that needs a bench sniper and has cap space), and hopefully a couple of second-rounders.
For Porzingis they could make the numbers work in exchange for Wendell Carter, provided Orlando don't pick up the options on Harris and Howard (which is extremely likely). I doubt picks would change hands with that one.
Add the Hauser move on top of it and they'll have shaved about $42m off their cap hit, which gets them under the first apron. If they find a taker for Powell – at best they'd get a late first for him – then they're all the way under the tax.
As a Celtics fan I'm hoping they will/expecting them to tank 2020-2021 Golden State-style.The challenge is that Boston still has to have a team.
Interesting work here, thanks man!The value they'd be looking for is getting under the apron, and under the tax entirely if possible. So we're not gonna see a ton of picks in return unless they ship out Brown and/or White.

Sorber isn't going back to school, for reference DC had a 7'6.76" wingspan but he was 7'1.75" barefoot.
tough blow for Georgetown but as expected
Well as long suffering Bullet/Wizards fan I can attest to the fact that they have been probably worst run NBA franchise ever. Still, they never seem to get any luck. How can the 14th worst team in the NBA have any chance of getting the first pick of the draft?I can't even imagine being a Wizards fan and not even being able to get a top 2 pick in this draft after the losing they've put together the past few seasons
If you're in the play-in, you should be ineligible for the top pick. Just slot those teams in like regular playoff teams. And the weighting system can stay, but it should be much more biased toward the worst teamsHow can the 14th worst team in the NBA have any chance of getting the first pick of the draft?
Four guards and a skinny big? Doesn't seem like a recipe for success to me. Where's the beef?If the Spurs keep the 2nd pick and take Harper.
What do y'all think of a core of Fox, Castle, Harper and Wemby?
Ridiculous amount of talent butnsome question marks shooting it. Would need to surround them with a bunch of shooters (probably Barnes next year?)
Steph can definitely guard 1-3 and can probably also guard some 4s.Four guards and a skinny big? Doesn't seem like a recipe for success to me. Where's the beef?
they have to give up a "top" player in some capacity just to make the math workThe Spurs have two first round picks, so they could definitely put a package together for Giannis without giving up top players.

Feel like that's a solid core and then you can trade Vassell and some picks to bring in a shooter at the 4If the Spurs keep the 2nd pick and take Harper.

Barnes has 1 more year left, and I think has been playing the 4. Same with Keldon Johnson who's more of a 3 though. Though I haven't watched Barnes since he was in Golden State so I could be wrongIs Barnes out? Is Barnes a 4? I can't really remember.
