2025 MLB Playoffs Thread

At least they beat the Red Sox. They have been flawed all season but it’s nice to take that into the winter.

Definitely gotta make all that cash feel well spent. I didn’t have any particular expectations for this Red Sox team but a roster loaded with guys who were in Pawtucket this season being competitive with the Yankees isn’t exactly something to make you feel great heading into the offseason.

I honestly didn't expect either team to make the playoffs. Yankees have wasted the greatest hitter of his generation by not getting a great manager and the right players surrounding him and the Red Sox have been putzing around since their last World Series. I did enjoy Schlittler having a historic pitching performance but the Yankees getting knocked around by the Blue Jays doesn't surprise me at all.

I want the Brewers to win it all.

Just asking for a friend, do the Yankees put up a banner for beating the Red Sox?
No they are unhappy unless they win it all. But Red Sox fans all tell me they just wanted to beat the Yankees. Sorry it didn’t happen for you.

Hal is happy with just making the playoffs it will get Boone and Cashman extensions. Hal could care less about the Yanks playoff failures.

Unconvincing.

Congrats. Hope that makes you sleep better.

And the Sox dominated the Yanks during the regular season. So what? That’s a pretty low bar you are setting, especially for a team that outspends everyone this side of the Dodgers.

Slight correction. I know you’re on West Coast and may not care but Red Sox AAA moved to Worcester MA in 2021.

Eh if he doesn't get out of the first round this year I think they can Boone. Cash might stay though.

Judge home run on a 99 mph fastball that was 18 inches inside from center of plate, and somehow kept it fair enough to hit the foul pole? Had to pull his arms in to do it but if you ever saw a fastball from behind the catcher on video you don’t even have time to blink.

Does it make any sense to anyone why the PHL/LAD game is at 6pm ET while the MIL/CHC game is at 9?

It'll be about 56F at game time at Wrigley, not brutal cold for playing, but uncomfortable in stands with the wind blowing in.

Meantime, the last three innings of the game at Dodger Stadium will be played in shadows. When does LA have 3pm starts on a weekday?

My guess is because of the Eagles game, but I don’t know for sure.

I guess that's at least an explanation. Didn't do Cubs fans any favors though. Probably not Dodger fans either.
Agreed. Cubs fans will just be more boozed up than they usually are.

comparing fans to players/organizations is apples and oranges

Stands are pretty empty in the early innings in LA

Poor Christophelr Sanchez. Tossing a shutout for 7+. Manager calls in their big deal deadline acquisition who loads the bases and walks one in.

OMG, that was the worst way I've ever seen to lose a playoff series. What a dumb play by Phils reliever.

Orion Kerkering is not as easy to say or remember as Bill Buckner, and it wasn't a World Series, so maybe he escapes eternal ridicule. But that was bad.
