Genuine question why is LSU considered better than Ole Miss currently? Kiffin is in the playoffs with Ole Miss

And JMU, hopefully DB has someone like a Jon Gruden or a Hugh Freeze in his sights because there is going to be a ton of churn and we may be left with the consolation prize to the consolation prize.
I don't see the love for Gruden. He will be a terrible hire for a college football team.

1. IF Mora had waited just a few days, wouldn't he be in the running for one or more of usf, Memphis, JMU, NTexas, and Tulane among others? All vastly superior to csu, seems he jumped the gun there.

2. I really hate how coaches can be poached just before the end of the season ... to the extent it could even impact the playoffs (Ole miss). I don't know any sport quite like this, it's insane. Really bad imo. Not sure what the solution is but surely the problem is well known.

1. He left for the mountains and proximity to family, not the job itself.

If Mora was able to get that job sure, hiring Mora would've been a downgrade for those programs.

… or prolonged:

Call me crazy, and yes, I know that there isn't a lot of ethical behavior in CFB, however if the rumor is true that Kiffin demanded to coach in the bowl game or he would take "all" the coaches with him and a bunch of players too, I'd be a bit cautious to hire him as he's got some serious prior baggage.

Oh wait, just had a reality check. Who am I kidding? LSU needs a splash hire right now to move beyond the Kelly debacle.

Kiffin is a selfish Asshat, plain and simple. It's amazing how a guy who has proven to be loyal to no one, not even his Mississippi players, could be this highly valued. Amazing how his less-than-stellar tenures at both Tennessee and USC and a bad ending to his time as OC at Alabama under Saban are now treated as if they never happened.

Yes, he did do an excellent job at Ole Miss... although one could say his team choked in the 2nd last game of 2024 when they lost to a mediocre Florida team thereby missing out on their chance to be in the first 12-team playoff last year.

How does any player and their family trust this guy? He is the ultimate hired gun, with loyalty to no one.

Bottom line: I would be pissed off if I was a Mississippi player. Most of us know how much effort these kids put in, and of course coaches like Kiffin demand loyalty from them. And then he turns around and basically gives them the middle finger like this? A complete scumbag maneuver.

Honestly, I hope he fails miserably at LSU. And I rarely feel this way.

Because the players can stay for as little as a year and then move on. Mercenary coaching mercenaries.

His insistence of "either you're coming or you're out of a job" is pretty...ummm...well I guess it just means more to him. The irony is that when SEC Shorts spoofed him the other week, only FAU had anything positive about him. I guess Ole Miss can tell him to SIP off.

Yes, but I would expect mercenary players playing in the college playoffs. Lane doing his best to ruin Ole Miss’s season. If reports are true, Lane is total scumbag.

I'd hope they'd play in the CFP, too but one never knows. Lane is someone I'd never hire.
