A few years too soon for the Virginia Tech job about 2 hours down I-81 from JMU?If he has JMU still rolling in 2 years he will be getting talked about for a B1G job.

Folks who had business in Boise told me it would be a fun road trip. But I'm not leaving the city proper. I used to watch Twin Peaks.Boise is a young and vibrant city. Awesome place. Not a large city by any stretch of the imagination.
Haha. I didn't venture out. I did have a local tell me they were out in Boise one night, got hammered and passed out on a bench in the center of the city overnight. They woke up and werent dead. And they still had all their belongings.Folks who had business in Boise told me it would be a fun road trip. But I'm not leaving the city proper. I used to watch Twin Peaks.
Made the trip to Boise when we played them. Great trip, would advise it for anyone if UConn plays on the blue carpet again.Folks who had business in Boise told me it would be a fun road trip. But I'm not leaving the city proper. I used to watch Twin Peaks.

100%Penn State is such a big job i would think they want someone with proven P4 success. To get rid of someone who had the success of Franklin to replace him who was in the FCS a couple of years ago I don’t know. I get that Franklin in big games came up short often, but look at what has happened to Wisconsin since firing Paul Chryst. They may be getting ready to dump Fickell already. Chryst like Franklin won 13 games 1 year there. That isn't easy to replicate.
Curbside nephrectomy…What did you think might happen, get robbed by a herd of mule deer or antelope?
I think Penn St. handcuffed themselves with the Franklin firing. It would be hard to justify firing Franklin and not bring in a proven winning P4 head coach even though that might not be the best hire. I think Chesney would be a great choice as he has won everywhere he has gone. He won his first year at James Madison after Cignetti left even though Cignetti took 13 JMU players to Indiana with him.100%
Penn state made it clear in this firing, what the standard is. they don't want just wins, they want to beat Michigan, Oregon, and Ohio State, and then get some championships. every other win type, is a GIVEN to them.
Goooooooood luck to the next coach, seriously.
It's possible that Bob Chesney could deliver, but that's not the hire that makes it worth having fired James Franklin. Honestly they probably will have to pony up irresponsible amounts of money for the guy they want (Cignetti) - or someone along those lines who's already locked up and whose buyout would make PA taxpayers stage a protest in Harrisburg.

Curbside nephrectomy…
Would not be shocked if they don't just promote Knowles.i agree with you.
Chesney is good; he isn't so good that he's worth the Franklin buyout, PLUS whatever his own new contract with PSU would be worth.
unless PSU already has the guy and is keeping hushed, this was a dumb move. With his record overall, I think Franklin was entitled to a "down" year, it happens as the landscape changes. And at the end of the day, you're just not Michigan and Ohio State. Get over yourselves, PSU.
Very knicks/thibodeau, IMO.
Like I said Wisconsin with Chryst did a FAFO. I would not be shocked to see Penn State struggle. Maybe they can lure back an Urban Meyer. That's the type of hire they're gonna need.I think Penn St. handcuffed themselves with the Franklin firing.
