2024 Coaching Carousel gets an early start…

Looks like a bootleg Coach O!
Now, Dowell Loggains is an authentic coaching vagabond. Recent 1 year South Carolina OC, prior 1 year Arkansas TE coach, and multiple NFL QB coach & OC single season pit stops. Challenging industry, maybe it pans out for Loggains and App State.

He accomplishes all of that and only gets a call up to Charlotte? Seems like a lateral move....why leave a good thing you got going.....I know, money
And a chance to put the word Head in front of the word coach.

NIL doing its work. Seems like a reordering of coaching around G5s - struggling programs with more resources poaching the successful ones at less funded programs.

Would not be surprised to see Charlotte and App State post 8-10 win seasons next year.

Maybe Charlotte has more upside, but Ohio is an upper tier MAC program and Charlotte is a bottom tier AAC program. Maybe Albin wanted a new challenge. Ohio was paying Albin ~$700k and Poggi at Charlotte was making $1 million so I would guess a nice bump in pay.

Escape economically depressed SE Ohio, join higher ranked conference, more Saturday, fewer midweek games, opportunity to build rapidly expanding school’s program in growing city, involvement in stadium expansion, and as you suggest likely higher comp.

NC State's DC Tony Gibson turned down Charlotte for Marshall so he perceived Marshall was a better job than Charlotte. It's a tough job especially with 7 FBS schools in North Carolina, but Charlotte is a growing school that is a newcomer to FBS football and they seem to want to win.

You do realize Gibson is a WV guy?

Yes, but I would assume that he would take the best opportunity to win. I think Marshall provides a better opportunity to win than Charlotte.
