2024 Coaching Carousel gets an early start…

According to my buddy, he thinks the UMass football NIL is in the neighborhood of $300k.
I'd be curious to see what the average NIL budget is for fellow MAC schools. It most likely is above $300k but I wouldn't be shocked if it's not that much more. So while we might be appalled by this number, it might fit right in with their future home.

Add Ryan Walters Purdue to the list....he is gone after the Oaken Bucket game in Bloomington on Saturday

Wow -that's wild. Reno is lifelong northeasterner with no FBS experience. Not saying it's a bad choice but definitely surprising.

Rice would be a good place to go. Texas recruiting, easy access as they're in Houston, decent history and good academics. Probably will have lower expectations to build your rep at FBS.

His son is a QB at South Carolina. Have to figure he joins his dad.

I dunno. Looks like it was easy from the outside. A cherished friend and colleague could have coached the final 2 and maybe even retired. Firing him 2 weeks before season ends just flies in the face of that narrative he put out to make him look like a decent guy to work for.

Kevin Morris replaced Don Brown in 2009 when Brown left to become DC at Maryland. Wonder if someone googled "Don Brown" replacement and got caught up in a 15 year old news cycle...

I think Coach Brown should've been given one more year. With the transition to the MAC and all coming up. I think he may have offered some stability for year 1 at least. Now they go in as bottom feeders for awhile... unless they get this new home right.... maybe they get a coach with MAC/G5 ties.... hope they get it right this time.

If true…. Yeesh

Can't be true.

Not sure how many schools can pay a head coach $10 million a year but I can't see UMass being one of them.

Also, it seems from the handle that this is some deranged UMass fan who hates Bamford and is trolling.

Lol, I read that as 5 years 10 total. Even 2 a year is a reach for UMass. Good catch.
