Beating out Coach Prime for a DB says something right there!

Looks like we have added another WO and this time to the RB position which is much needed. Nice to see what feels like a more pro-active approach to find area guys to see what they can do once on campus. It almost felt like the prior regime refused to find WOs until school started and they could review just which regional kids decided to land at Storrs.

5'11'' / 180lbs
1300+ rushing Yards, 23 Rushing touchdowns, 29 Total Touchdowns, 91 receiving yards, 4.47 speed (per his bio)
NEPSAC 2022 player of the year
New Hampton School/ New Hamtpon NH
I believe he is from New Haven CT

Mora had a late surge in CT PWOs and commits. It is great to see the quality PWOs that chose UConn over other options. In-state commits and PWO include Hudson, Harper, Teddy WIlliams, Neider, Simpson, Shaban and Daniley. This certainly gives UConn the in-state presence and connection to the prep and HS scene that Edsall lost in his 2nd term. Traditionally, a few of these in-staters have developed into impact players. Hopefully that rings true with this year's class.

Yeah, fewer kids that end up on Holy Cross and Rhode Island that turn into "who is that guy, why didn't we take him seriously."

This is so fundamental and yet somehow the prior regime couldn't get past the walls they built around themselves.

All kinds of programs (P5, G5 and FCS) have WO develop into contributors, we should be no different.

I think the Mora has brought in coaches who have connections in CT football and has even talked about him leaning on them in recruiting the state.

And perhaps once the relationship with the school/coaches is established, UConn can go after higher ranked players and show that they are serious about the relationship, opposed to attempting to swoop in on a ranked player and say, hey, stay home and play at UConn, without any prior recruiting success.

1st go round they found future NFLers Donald Thomas and Marcus Easly that way. Wonder if Mora got some traction with Benedict on increasing the roster size via walkons.
