The time for Leipold was when Buffalo got him, not after. That's what good hiring looks like. Grab a guy from D3 no one is knocking down the door to grab. If he succeeds he moves on and you hope to build from there. The Cincinnati model.I love Mora, but we missed out on Leipold when we had the chance
And Avalos was 22-14 for a .611 clip but out ya go!The firing of Fisher is wild. They won 51-10 yesterday.
Do they pay Jimbo the buyout or try to weasel out if it and take it to court?
“The news was first reported by TexAgs. According to ESPN, Texas A&M plans to honor the remainder of Fisher’s contract, which is a record $76 million -- more than three times any other known public school coaching buyout.”Well that is usually the case. Anyone can make claims and try to weasel out.
His last three stops have been Oklahoma State, Texas, and Penn State. I don't think he has Storrs on his mind.Any chance to get the Penn State OC? It's not like he could do any worse than it current OC.
Well, someone in Storrs can make a call and invite him up for lunch now that he has some free timeHis last three stops have been Oklahoma State, Texas, and Penn State. I don't think he has Storrs on his mind.

You don’t/can’t - the only hope is to keep the wheels on the bus rolling till it all blows up and the remaining schools reorganize into something sustainable.I don't think any professional sports team has ever found itself in this situation. How does anyone compete with a program that is willing to do things like write off $150 million to coaches it doesn't want anymore?
I'm a Mets fan. So, ...I don't think any professional sports team has ever found itself in this situation. How does anyone compete with a program that is willing to do things like write off $150 million to coaches it doesn't want anymore?
The opposing coach got whacked as well…The firing of Fisher is wild. They won 51-10 yesterday.
The buyout money at TAMU will come from boosters. It won’t cost the school any money
And some here think this is where we should be…You don’t/can’t - the only hope is to keep the wheels on the bus rolling till it all blows up and the remaining schools reorganize into something sustainable.
Tell you one thing, it shows committment.I don't think any professional sports team has ever found itself in this situation. How does anyone compete with a program that is willing to do things like write off $150 million to coaches it doesn't want anymore?
Or it shows you programs that have got a lot of extra cash. I've long thought that the rich programs would be able to spend everyone else in every other sport into the ground, but if they just use all this $$$ to spend solely on FB ....Tell you one thing, it shows committment.
Well, there is Bobby Bonilla Day. Granted, it's not quite as much, but it's still a ridiculous amount. TAMU has an $18 billion endowment, surpassed only by Texas on the Public side. They have money to burn.I don't think any professional sports team has ever found itself in this situation. How does anyone compete with a program that is willing to do things like write off $150 million to coaches it doesn't want anymore?
We already tried DeLeone and Coach P. Sadly they're looking better and better. As much as we tend to hire up-and-coming/less experienced position coaches, I hope we can sprinkle in some more experienced position coaches with a good player development track records. We need a bunch of those on our staff so hopefully we add a couple in the next handful of months as other staffs turn over during carousel season.
Not sure we'retalking about the same thing... I'm talking about position coaches (QB, WR, LB, DB, especially). We already tried DeLeone and Coach P. Sadly they're looking better and better.
