When playing against a more talented team (Stanford is) you have to play near flawless baseball. Two plays killed us: bases loaded in the first with no outs without scoring, and Padilla's error resulting in the grand slam. We get just one hit with the bases jammed, and Padilla makes the play....... it's not 9-4 Stanford, it's 6-5 UConn.

Top 7th, a scoreless inning for the UConn offense after a leadoff walk. 9-4 Stanford.

Some teams on UConn's schedule next season according to Chris Jones. California, Ohio State, FIU.

Bottom 7th, sac fly makes the score 10-4 Stanford. With 2 outs, Brady Afthim coming into the game.

California is decent. FIU was horrible all year and OSU is a middling program. I'd like to see a headliner type SEC program.

Do we not k ow how to point out where a pop up is? The pitcher or the first baseman should have helped Donlan there.

I’ll tell you, that Park kid has some skills

Starting to get annoyed with the negativity here. These are college kids facing the #2 team in the country and hanging in there.
It’s been a great year…they end in a loss for everyone except for that one team. I am extremely proud of this group. Had a lot of fun watching all them all year.

It's just disappointing to have two cracks at getting to Omaha and not being competitive in the latter half of the game in either of them.

It wasn't over when the Germans bomed Pearl Harbour. Not vs Clemson Burrell 2 Tater. LFGH!!!! HookC!!!!!

Balls rolling through our right fielders legs, or slipping chasing a ground ball, or overrunning a foul ball … nothing to do with how good Stanford is

Ultimately, Stanford is the better team but we had the talent to beat them if we played perfect and got some breaks. Fair to say we’ve been far from perfect these last two days

With that being said still an amazing team & season

Last 2 games we scored just 3 total runs after the 1st inning. Even for all the what-ifs, the offensive production just wasn't there during the course of the game. Props to the Stanford pitching for shutting our bats down.

Hey, it was a great year and a heckuva run for UConn. Just went up against a better team. We'll be back.

Haven’t been posting much this year, and at all during the postseason, because the team seemed to play better when I didn’t, and like most here I’m a sucker for mojo. But what a great season we’ve had, in a year where we came in thinking it would be a little bit of a transitionary season and then had our best player go down for the year to boot. We (likely have) lost to a better team. A team we’re good enough to beat, but just didn’t have it today. Can’t wait to see how 2023 looks.

I totally get it, but also understand that it’s just some people venting because it feels like we squandered many opportunities in this game.

Fans get emotional and sometimes venting to other fans let’s them release those emotions.

Yes, there’s always some that are always negative but that doesn’t apply to everyone.

Just my $0.02. And this game isn’t over either.

Edit: Now it is. Rough game for Donlan, congrats to Stanford. Great year this year, still tough to swallow.
