3-1 pitch to Fedko was a foot outside and called a strike. Ump stinks

Notre Dame had a complete game from their starting pitcher yesterday, and probably won't have to use any of their big guys out of the pen today, so they are certainly good shape for the next game or two.

Lucas still on the mound to start the top of the 6th.

He hurt us in the 1st inning for sure....since then it’s been the ND bats that are beating us up.

Agree, if Ben gets a couple of those calls early on maybe the score looks a little different.

The ball he called on Gorilla Monsoon hurt....

Lucas strikes out the lead off hitter, then comes out in favor of Sam Favieri.

Man, I’m not a big unwritten rules guy at all, by any means. But that #1 Irish guy, Ryan Cole rubbed me the wrong way by going for a drag bunt single and then stealing second when they’re up 12-2 (now 12-2). And that another ND guy got out by a caught stealing...sheesh.

I still like Lucas. I think the first inning was just rust. Pitch fairly well otherwise.
Lucas did okay considering the situation… he’ll grow from it.

Lucas started the season with an injury, and I don't think it helped him when he was trying to come back later and not doing well in inter squad games in Storrs. I suspect the farther he gets away from the injury, the more likely he will do better.

The game is probably over but this is still a UConn team averaging 9.5 runs a game over the last 10, mostly in late innings so I can't get too upset with them trying to add on

Yea, just feels like pouring salt in the wound with how rough of a game this has been. But they are a team that feels they have something to prove here.

Top 6th, Favieri walks in a run with 2 out, 14-2. Brendan O'Donnell in to pitch.

Once you knew Casparius was off kilter it was bound to spin away like this. They were due for a stinker (thankfully this one isn’t an elimination game) and I believe they relish having their backs against the wall.
Very true, this team does seem to play best up against it.

That plus after you get past the big 5 in the bullpen plus Garrett Coe, the bullpen guys have had a very difficult time getting outs all season. Casparius getting in trouble very early was certainly the nightmare scenario for UConn baseball in this one.

Pat Winkel singles, then comes out of the game for Devenney. Potentially he is going to have a long day tomorrow, and then possibly again Monday afternoon.

Top 7th, O'Donnell with a scoreless inning. Haven't seen too much of that tonight for UConn.

Hague and Morton got into the game, Crawford and I think Bushling came out.

Give me some Angus now.

Don't know if he made the 27/28 man tournament roster (number mandated by the NCAA), but if he did, I expect he will see an inning. He was on the Big East Tourney roster.

Top 8th, interesting inning for O'Donnell, a home run and 3 strikeouts. 18-2.
