I still hold some hope for Chris Johnson. Just because of how quickly he took down his decommit post, Edsall's slip on that extra recruit number and he hasn't committed anyplace else in three months. Don't the kids usually pick a new school quicker than this?
Very happy with who we have so far.

Interesting that Walt Bell gave it a like.

Picking UMass over UConn and others? Must want to go to a school that wants to play.
I’m not so sure our offer was still good this fall. With great talent the offer is always good, with other kids, the offer might be good for a month or two, but not forever. It seemed like UConn didn’t push too hard after making initial offer and btw, not all offers are the same. Maybe our offer was conditional and those conditions were not met (subject to academic or other requirements).

Thanks. The nuances are always intriguing and so complicated today versus the days before big media money
and all the other factors pushing and pulling kids in different directions. You just hope they make the right decisions for their futures whether in football or in a career they'll find satisfying.

FL LB decommits from Illinois. Has an UConn offer - back in April. Tough times in Champaign might free up some other commits as well.

I see on twitter he has some connection with App St and you can also see he loves fishing...hmmmm.

I'm not sure he knows what "no love lost" means.

Yup but nonetheless...

Mason Phillips is a 6-3 225lb LB from Casteel High School in Queens Creek Arizona. Other offers from Monmouth and a host of D3 programs across the country.

Highlights

Same High School as Class of 2022 DL Andrew Petersen who visited campus before the shutdown.

Official:

>>Members also voted to permit additional flexibility in virtual recruiting in football by allowing all coaches, full-time school staff members and current students to conduct recruiting calls (telephone calls and video calls) without a countable coach being present. This flexibility, proposed by the Football Oversight Committee, includes volunteer coaches in the Football Championship Subdivision. The Council plans to address similar flexibility for other sports at its December meeting.<<

UConn offers Jonathan Alexander - 6'2' 215 S/CB in the transfer portal from K-State.

Alexander attended Garden City Community College and then Kilgore Community College followed spending the past two seasons at K-State where he got snaps in 2019, but opted to sit in 2020 due to COVid concerns. He entered the portal on 11/4 and recently picked up an offer from Miss St.

Looks like he may have familiarity with Sidney Walker who also attended Kilgore Community College.

Bio info scooped from K-State:
2019: Saw action in all 12 regular-season games, carding 25 tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, a sack, two pass breakups, a fumble and a fumble recovery... Also blocked a punt against TCU, which led to K-State’s first touchdown of the game... Striped a ball carrier and returned a fumble 25 yards for a touchdown in the season opener against Nicholls... It was the Wildcats’ first score via a fumble recovery in 23 games... Set a season high with four tackles at Texas, a game that featured a sack... Both of his pass breakups came in the regular-season finale against Iowa State.

COMMUNITY COLLEGE: Played the 2018 season at Kilgore College under head coach J.J. Eckert... Rated the 14th-best community college safety in the Class of 2019 by 247Sports... Earned honorable mention all-conference honors as a sophomore after totaling 49 tackles, one tackle for loss, nine pass breakups and an interception... Helped the Rangers produce a 10-2 season with a conference championship, while Kilgore capped the season with a victory in the C.H.A.M.P.S. Heart of Dallas Bowl and a No. 4 national ranking... Spent the 2017 season at Garden City Community College, playing in 10 games and recording one tackle and a pass breakup.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Trimble Tech under head coach Dwayne Henry... Named the 99th-best safety nationally in the Class of 2016 by 247Sports... Earned first team all-district honors at safety as a senior after totaling 54 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss and five interceptions... Also returned eight kickoffs for a 17.9-yard average, three punts for a 22.7-yard average and caught 12 passes for 262 yards and a touchdown... Earned first team all-district accolades in basketball and was named the district rebounding MVP.

PERSONAL: Jonathan Cameron Alexander was born September 27, 1999, in Fort Worth, Texas... Son of Latesha Alexander... Majoring in social sciences.
