Does this mean RE didn't retire?
I don’t think SI is correct ($400k was his base salary w/o the media components). He was to be paid a pro-rated amount of his 2021 contract.

This comment is a joke right? Mullen won 21 SEC games, went to 3 NY6 Bowl Games and the SEC championship last year. If that's not continued success in a league with Alabama, then I don't know what is. I agree with another post that they are becoming Texas. Unrealistic expectations, yet Mullen actually met the expectations they had, he was on a down year.

I get that it's hard to pass on these jobs but I can't even fathom the amount of pressure it must be for a coach to be at some of these schools. To be that successful and still be looked at as a failure? SMH

He had a 2-9 record in his last 11 games vs. P5 opponents. According to McMurphy, only Vanderbilt, Arizona, and Kansas have worse records. Throw in the weak for Florida recruiting and the embarrassing debacle against FCS Samford with the most points scored against Florida in a half ever, and it was clear Mullen was going to get fired.

-> Mullen finished with a 34-15 record at UF after four seasons at the helm.

During his tenure at Florida, Mullen won 21 SEC games and led the Gators to three New Year Six Bowls and the SEC Championship Game in 2020.

The Gators are 5-6 (2-6 SEC) in 2021. <-

He won't be unemployed for long...

Nice to know he'll be coaching (basically with 2 nice checks coming in) next Fall somewhere... P5 SEC level competition is a different animal. I see him landing another P5 gig and having success. Maybe not in the SEC but for maybe a Big 12/Pac12/B1G/ACC type team...

His record as head coach is almost exactly the same as Mullen’s at UF HAHA. These schools deserve what they get.
But very different trends. Mullen’s trajectory scared the UF faithful, particularly FL recruiting.

-> Doug Martin is not expected to return as New Mexico State's head coach and Jerry Kill is the school's top target to replace him, sources told FootballScoop on Tuesday.

New Mexico State's athletics department is led by Mario Moccia, who previously served as Southern Illinois' AD while Kill was the head coach.

Kill would be expected to bring Tim Beck, the former Pittsburg State head coach and a current TCU offensive analyst, along as his offensive coordinator. <-
