Big Nick Dawkins seemed to enjoy his visit to UConn earlier this year, but hard to resist the home state B10 school, who probably said its now or never kid. Great looking prospect here.

Thought this was coming - the staff really piled into this kid the last 48 hours.

Speedy 6'0'' WR David Vincent-Okoli from Gaithersburg MD with an offer. Okoli also has an offer from Coastal Carolina, Buffalo, UMass and Monmouth with interest from Pitt (he did a visit) and Kentucky. He has us pinned which is a nice start!

Okoli recently posted a 10.6 100M time.

Interesting that no one on the UConn staff is following this kid on Twitter.

TE Justin Barron holds a UConn offer:

To change the instate recruiting story we need one high profile kid to take the chance - to take the challenge. The opportunity is tremendous, to be Dan Orlovsky Part Duex. Van Dyck could be that kid. Guys like Justin Barron and Jah Joyner could also lead the same story. It takes one instate kid to take the plunge, and then you go from there.

Right now we have many instate kids that will help us turn the corner, but perhaps the one with the highest ceiling is Travis Jones. Maybe a breakout season by Travis will get things started.

DeGennaro has offers from Lafayette and Howard.
Leone has offers from Buffalo, Albany, Toledo, UMass, Columbia, Colgate and Monmouth. He has taken visits to UVA, Syracuse and Pitt.

The Hun School has produced some great all around kids for UConn, it would be nice to see that continue with one of these kids.

I recall you saying that about Lavarey Banton as a PWO. Not that those two are in the same situation....but your opinion was strong.

Its a long fall ahead. If the program can show meaningful improvement and by chance someone like Dino Babers decides to walk late in the December game (even though he just signed a big contract), then something might happen for us. If not here with Tyler, then with some other + level QB here in the northeast. A local star would be very helpful for momentum. It seems probable that one of the coaches at either Pitt, Rutty or BC will be dislodged this year...which could help us, but only if Randy looks like he has firm control and real momentum. November football will matter...at least with regard to our future under Randy.

Marcus Yarns is a 6'0 185lb RB from Parkside High School (MD). He ran for 1508 yards with 12 TDs as a junior.

Marcus also picked up an offer from ECU today in edition to offers from Memphis, UMass, Toledo and Army. He recently took a visit to Navy and Syracuse.

Yarns is a very fluid n/s runner with good balance/good burst.

I’m also the one that broke it that he was offered a PWO. He was talking to another school about a scholly and they were close to offering but the school got a surprise late commit that messed that up for him. And another person is saying Tyler wants out of Ct.

Exactly - things change.

Maybe it won’t be Tyler- but at some point a higher level instate talent might change direction very late in the process and surprise us all. It happened with Boyle. Its the reason Edsall should recruit every instate kid that he believes in regardless of today’s odds because tomorrow might be different.

West Hartford TE Justin Barron holds a UConn offer:

Not that it matters, but I believe he is a Glastonbury kid. He went to KO in WH for a few years. Once that school made the decision to NOT commit to high level football, passing on some really good players, and Tre W got kicked out, it was time for him to move on.
