He's a junior. Considering summer classes and everythin, I'd say there's a decent shot he has the credits to get a degree in liberal arts or something.

You absolutely take him regardless though. Even if he has to sit. Priority recruit.

Stats vs. P5/ranked teams:

vs #7 Maryland: 5/2/4 1/8 FG 1/3 3 FG 2/4 FT 4 TO FT 3 STL
vs Alabama : 22/5/5 8/18 FG 1/4 3FG 5/5 FT 1 TO 4 STL
vs LSU: 26/4/8 8/16 FG 4/7 3FG 6/8 FT 1 TO 3 STL
vs WVU: 32/1/5 14/25 FG 3/4 3FG 1/1FT 3 TO 5 STL
vs Providence: 24/5/8 7/16 FG 4/5 3 FG 6/8 FT 5 TO 2 STL
vs #6 Dayton: 19/2/4 7/18 FG 1/5 3FG 4/7 FT 0 TO 2 STL
vs #3 Dayton: 9/4/4 2/13 FG 0/4 3 FG 5/6 FT 0 TO 2 STL

Averages:

19.6 PPG
3.3 RPG
5.4 APG
41 FG%
44% 3FG
74% (5.9 attempts per game!)
2.0 TO
3.0 STL

Just like with RJ, these stats are with him as the primary option on the team. The finishing at the rim needs to improve. But the ability to draw fouls, hit them, and shoot 3s is hard to complain about.

As a comparison to RJ I'd say he's obviously smaller and not as strong, but a similar shooter with the difficulty finishing at the rim. Fatts is probably a better passer and better defender. RJ is stronger and probably 20+lbs heavier.

Sign him up.

Take this with a grain of salt, but I heard from a source that he's considering a transfer to Uconn. Maybe true if the one-time transfer rule goes into effect. Hurley recruit. Averaged 19/3/5 as a junior on 39% from the floor.
I’ll take it with a tablespoon of sugar. Salivating. Been wanting this kid to transfer here since DH left Rhode Island

Correct me if I'm wrong but the last thing this team needs moving forward is a 5'10 guard who shoots 39% from the field. We have our guards for next year. Would rather have AG back tbh.
The kid averages 20 per game and leads the nation in steals. He can go to Kentucky if he wants. It’s the biggest no brainer.

I may be mistaken, but weren’t there rumblings that he considered following Dan here when he took the job? That week of the Hurley Sweepstakes was like a fever dream so maybe I’m remembering incorrectly but I vaguely recall that being a rumor.

In any event, yes please. If we swing this...my goodness we’re a deep, talented team on paper

Seriously. He won't be relies upon to take the last-second low % bail out shots--that'll be bouk. Hurley can unleash him on D and spotting up on Bouk drive and kicks

I don't think anything was legit but there were a lot of calls for Fatts to follow Hurley (Adams did instead) and some claims that Hurley wouldn't leave URI because of him

If and only if AG doesn't return
The kid will want to take over and that will not mesh with Bouk IMHO
Gotta be careful with guys like this who are used to being the straw at one place walking into a place that is beginning to find itself
I'd rather get a BIG
not saying Fatts isn't good but may not be the best fit

Am I the only one who sees a lot of Ryan Boatright in this guy's game? Maybe not the hops, but all that quickness off the bounce? Wow.

Exactly. Lotta Boat in this kid's game. We would be so stacked at guard if he's able to transfer without having to sit. Genuinely psyched for this to happen.

Something tells me Dan will get through to him.

About the concerns concerning too many dogs in the yard for this to work.

Coaches are aware of that. And you talk to kids about it when recruiting, even show them on tape what we need. No matter who is coming in. If Hurley makes the call, there is definitely a conversation about his role on the team needing to change, and seeing how bought in he could be with that. If he's willing to be option number 2,3, maybe 4 on any given night, but play against the best competition in the country, then sign him up. I'm sure Fatts knows that if he wants a long pro career he needs to be a high efficiency leader on the court. His style of play will need to change. Hurley gives him the best shot at that.

Here’s to hoping he finds his thrill on cemetery hill! ;)

We used to drink beer, sunbathe and play frisbee there. But, we spent many more countless hours respectfully maintaining the area. Good times and I hope that balance still exists.
