I kind of wish he commits though because he is a kind of player that attracts others to the program

We don't know what internal pressure he is receiving and I would be fine if he recommitted to UConn and I think HCRE would to, but would continue to recruit running backs

I don’t know to be honest I know both his parents were fine with his choice. I honestly think he wanted to see who would offer him. I’m going to try to get more info out of him. I try to reach out to potential commits to let them know come to UConn and get playing time

Hard to imagine fans don't know these rules and got the school into even more trouble.

Osita Smith to announce on 8/30. Signs indicate he’s headed to Maryland.

Of the known offers it seems we are in the mix with the following at some capacity:

1) Bagnah - per TOS he visited us back in late June.
2) Means- we look to be bridesmaid to Tennessee - but it’s not over
3) Holler - thought he would be at WV or Pitt by now, but maybe there is more to the story
4) Allen - recruiting story is very quiet. Hoping the Kevin Jones connection can do something here. Did camp at Penn St and Syracuse.
5) Ugwa - we made his top 7 list
6) Bapst - Maryland lean

I think we might offer Lamp for center position as soon as the Holler sweep stakes is over.

For all the other offers I see nothing on twitter to suggest we are in consideration.

We only have 8 to 12 more slots.

I don’t know what our long run history is with St Johns College High School in DC, but two years ago we got Stanley Hubbard from here who was said to have a decent spring at C for us. Now this year we have Cameron Ross’ commitment and made an offer to both Bapst for TE and Haigler for OL. This is the same HS that Tre Williams is moving to from Suffield.

Three-star running back Darrin Smith talks about three official visits scheduled for September

DALLAS -- Frisco (Texas) Lone Star 2019 three-star all-purpose back Darrin "DJ" Smith released his top seven schools at the True Buzz Group annual media day event. Smith has narrowed his focus to a top seven, in alphabetical order, that includes BYU, Colorado, Connecticut, FAU, Memphis, San Diego State, and TCU.

Smith has already scheduled official visits for the first half of September with three of those schools. He will visit Memphis on Sept. 1, then BYU on Sept. 8, followed by FAU on Sept. 15. Does Smith already have a decision timeline in mind?

"No, not really," Smith said. "I have the official visits that I'm doing in September, so whenever I finish up those, I'll start thinking about that."

Colorado, TCU, San Diego State, FAU, and UConn have all offered Smith at some point during his recruitment. His official visits to Memphis and BYU could very well yield offers once he makes an in-person appearance on those campuses. Smith was committed from early May to mid-June to UConn before re-opening his recruitment. With official visits scheduled to that trio of schools, Smith said he likes the way Memphis, BYU, and FAU use their backs.

Last night UCF made an offer to 6'7'' DL prospect Smith Vilbert from Montvale NJ (St Josephs). Not too much out there on this guy, but rumor has it we might be offering at some point as well. Vilbert also has an offer from Rutty and Kent State.
