More on Tuesday's Haley Jones performance:

The bottom line is all the top programs in the nation want a slice of Jones right now, with Connecticut Coach Geno Auriemma recently attending a Mitty game, but the question that remains is who will eventually get the whole pizza pie?

The answer is likely anyone Jones wants, and the way she played in a 72-45 dismantling by the top-seeded and state and national No. 1 Monarchs (26-1) of a very solid No. 4 seed Eastside only added a chapter to the drama of her eventual decision.

Her 26 points, seven rebounds, five assists, five steals and two blocks could be a career game for most players, but isn’t earth shattering stats for the Jones. However, in the first quarter she outscored the Eastside team 14-11 and at the half it was Jones 23 and Eastside 21 with Mitty holding a 37-21 lead.

At that point the 6-1 wing and her teammates pretty much had sealed the deal, and the total team player that she is decided to start dishing in the second half. She did make one acrobatic move in the third quarter that delighted the fans when she hit an off-balance fall away jumper with defenders blanketing her.

“Haley had an incredible first half. She was fantastic,” said Mitty Coach Sue Phillips.

Amari DeBerry led her team to the sectional title game with 22 points Wednesday.

The 6-foot-5 freshman is so quick and fluid that she changes the complexion of a game by her mere presence. Opposing shooters see her coming and look for the nearest exit to avoid a blocked shot. At the other end, she’s clearly improved her assortment of offensive moves around the basket. It would be a surprise if she wasn’t a first-team All-WNY pick.

“She spent her summer playing ball with some of her teammates,” Dolan said. “The timing is there. Amari works exceptionally hard. She can even be a perimeter player.”

Scratch Maryland from Sam Brunelle's list.

Brunelle recently told another college no — the University of Maryland. Her final list for home visits and more after her season ends includes, in no particular order — University of Virginia, University of Kentucky, University of Connecticut, University of South Carolina, Notre Dame, Wake Forest, North Carolina State and Duke University.

My extremely uneducated guess is that her final four will come down to UConn, ND, Duke and Virginia.............

Her coach may have convinced that egomaniac in Storrs that it ain’t worth the trouble.

I assume UConn wanted to see how she played after coming back from the knee surgery................based on this season's stats looks like she has passed that test

My extremely uneducated opinion is that you are probably right. If she uses all 5 official visits, my guess is the 5th would be SCar.

Sounds about right to me, though Wake may be in the mix too.

Adding to the uneducated and partially informed opinions: I'm guessing UConn, Duke and ND are faves for official visits.

I'm wavering a bit on UVA because Coach Boyle is at the end of her contract (see ACC thread) and has had -- at the end of the years -- a kind of a "meh" run in Wahoo land. Plus, there's a new AD who has no allegiance. So, Baby Bru may have her eyes on how that plays out.

As for the NC schools: Wes Moore has certainly done a bravura job in Raleigh (he's got two 90+ recruits this year, one of which is a tall post) and Wake Forest is certainly a fine school, but so are most of the places she's looking at. Wake does have two 90+- rated posts coming in 2018, but the overall talent is not akin to N.C. State, let alone UConn, ND or Duke.

UVA decision will probably come shortly after NCAA tourney is announced......

To my knowledge he only saw Van Lith in AAU action. I haven't heard of anyone from UConn making the trek to see her in Washington. Or Brink in Oregon though she obviously visited Storrs.
