I believe Stanford.

You're right.

Man, I just moved to Atlanta and I was willing to drive just about any distance in the Southeast if we made it to the super regionals.

I'd be going to Conway but I have family plans next weekend...

I call BS on hotel space being an issue in Norwich. There is probably more hotels per capita in New London county than anywhere else in CT due to casinos, mystic, and other tourist traps.

I agree. Just passing info along from what I was told. They will come up with any reason to rationalize their decision. I was on the selection committee for the D2 tournament a number of years ago when I was coaching on that level. There were 8 eight team geographic regions then; each region had it's own selection committee so committee members were really knowledgeable of teams in their region; there was a conference call every Sunday evening from the beginning of the season to selection time to talk teams. There were no automatic bids in D2 at that time (not sure if that's the same now since I've been away for a while). The only drawback was the southern teams complained they had better teams being left out but I didn't care because I was PA/OH/IN/IL/MI......

But he has said that, in the tweet below. What you're looking for is something that you're not going to get from a national writer. NC State over UConn is a mistake (IMO) but not an egregious one. He's not going to come out and blast the committee with 20 tweets like you want because he has to remain impartial

That's the kind of lukewarm meh response I'm talking about. He pulled that same "UCONN should be in but I have no complaints with the field" crap he pulled last year when UCONN was snubbed. Now it's more of the same. I don't expect him to fire off a tweet storm blasting the committee (they definitely deserve it) for denying UCONN from hosting duties, but at least pick a freaking side. Either the committee got it wrong (they did) or they didn't. Straddling the fence with "school A should host but I have no problem with school B hosting" isn't working and both you and he knows it. Yet he persists with the fence straddling. Why?

Michael Lananna on Twitter

In other words the committee had no intention of UConn as a host

Somebody better tell "friend of UCONN" Aaron Fitt this information. Assuming he doesn't have it already. Fitt-y was convinced our lack of a state-of-the-art on-campus stadium and the fact we were pushing an off-campus stadium was the reason UCONN was denied hosting duties.

Dead on. God forbid anyone thinks anything in life is a close call on which reasonable people can differ.

We weren’t getting one. AAC needs to make noise so we get some respect. Playing at Dodd is a drawback not s showstopper. We need to get teams to a Super Regional consistently. Let’s see who shows up.

Nobody from the North made it.

Not sure what you mean by nobody from the North made it, but if you are referring to the 16 baseball host schools, Minnesota isn't from the North?

Well nobody was a relative term. The South heavily heavily dominated and they are more respected. Also, AAC needs to get 3 of the 4 to a super regional. Then I'll complain about hosting.

Not to say that we aren't good, but we didn't dominate anything. Didn't win conference tourney nor did we finish first. Lost 2/3 to USF and Houston both. To host I thought that we needed to either sweep ECU or win the tournament. Otherwise AAC was getting one and it would be in Greenville, assuming ECU didn't Crash and Burn in the tourney.

Having said that I like our chances. Need Cate to contribute.

I looked at Coastal's schedule. OOC was a monster. They split against Clemson and beat NC Chapel Hill. NC State took 2/3 from Clemson, GA Tech, Duke, Beat Louisville. Got swept by NCChapelHill and lost 2/3 to Fla State. Hard to argue against either of them hosting.

We need to throw a couple of big games in our OOC bucket. NC, or FL/FL St.

Out of conference is one thing, but performance in the AAC matters as well. The NCAA supposedly put an emphasis on finishing first in the conference regular season and/or winning the conference tournament. With UConn's RPI, if the Huskies finish first in the regular season or wins the AAC tourney, then maybe UConn ends up as a host, NCAA willing.
