There schedule could end up being decent but it all depends on who they play in Puerto Rico. There are some really good schools in that tourney as well as some really bad ones

Teams in this conference other than a few have terrible ooc schedules some embarrassing pathetic. Teams have to get better and schedule better. Probably two much to ask.

Every year that tourney usually brings in a few big names but the rest of the teams are always bad.

SMU's schedule (of what we know so far) is much better than the past few years:

Atlantis tournament - we'll play 3 of the following: Villanova, Arizona, NC State, Purdue, Tennessee, Western Kentucky, and Northern Iowa.
@ TCU (could possibly be ranked)
Vs. USC (will be ranked)
Vs. Boise State (74 final RPI last yr surprisingly)

No clue on the rest yet.

Not bad. Thanks, Mr. Walker. I'm guessing you are an SMU fan...

Curious to see the rest of UCF's schedule

Wichita State: Wichita State ticket prices rise and fans are still buying

Nov. 10 — UMKC

Nov. 13 — College of Charleston

Nov. 20 — California at Maui Invitational

Nov. 21 — VCU/Marquette at Maui Invitational

Nov. 22 — at Maui Invitational

Nov. 28 — Savannah State

Dec. 2 — at Baylor

Dec. 5 — South Dakota State

Dec. 9 — at Oklahoma State

Dec. 16 — Oklahoma at Intrust Bank Arena

Dec. 19 — Arkansas State

Dec. 22 — Florida Gulf Coast

Still needs to be finalized, apparently waiting on one home game:

“The biggest question is, ‘When is the schedule going to get released?’ ” Wilkins said.

WSU’s non-conference schedules is waiting on one game, likely a home game as part of the Maui Invitational. Dates and TV for the American portion of the schedule was announced in early September last season.

Tulsa got absolutely jobbed:

Here's my compiling of all of the announced OOC games so far for UConn along with each team's RPI:

Colgate, 295
BU, 192
Oregon, 9
Mich St(51) /Depaul (236)
UNC(5)/Arkansas(25)/Oklahoma (169)/Portland (235)
Columbia, 262
Monmouth - 48
Coppin State - 336
Villanova - 1
Syracuse - 84
Arizona - 2
Auburn - 114

Must wins: Colgate, BU, Columbia, Coppin St.
Good matchups: Oregon, Monmouth, Cuse, Auburn
Pie in sky chance of win: Arizona, Nova

The PK80 brings in an interesting level of possibility. Oregon will be tough, but they are replacing their top-5 players from last year which amassed 64.3 ppg, which is why I listed Oregon as a "good matchup".

There's plenty of challenge in this OOC, we just have to make hay with it.

.-.
Be a shame if we lose to those teams with bad scheduling. Just saying.

That Tulane schedule is an abomination. They couldn't have scheduled worse if they tried.

UCONN NICK:
Very astute observation considering where you are right now. But it's not your conference, it's your coach. You schedule very well.... as good or better than most. You get good players....recruiting isn't bad.

You need to execute. You are not.
Ollie's not the guy.

Found Memphis...

2017-18 Memphis men's basketball nonconference schedule
Nov. 10 vs. Alabama (19-15; RPI: 82) in Annapolis, Md.
Nov. 14 vs. Arkansas-Little Rock (15-17; 241)
Nov. 21 vs. New Orleans (20-12; 161)
Nov. 25 vs. Northern Kentucky (24-11; 85)
Nov. 30 at UAB (17-16; 199)
Dec. 2 vs. Mercer (15-16; 196)
Dec. 5 vs. Samford (20-16; 170)
Dec. 9 vs. Bryant (12-20; 280)
Dec. 12 vs. Albany (21-14; 146)
Dec. 16 vs. Louisville (25-9; 11) at Madison Square Garden
Dec. 20 vs. Siena (17-17; 129)
Dec. 23 vs. Loyola (Md) (16-17; 200)
Dec. 28 vs. LSU (10-21; 195)

Sooner or later this has to come down to the commissioner giving two craps about basketball. You simply can't let teams schedule like this. It absolutely kills the conference RPI and leads to poor seeds. These schools have had enough time to fix this type of scheduling and from what I can tell most haven't even tried.

I laughed at Tulane, but this is vomit inducing.

Temple will also be playing a game at MSG vs. South Carolina in late Nov. Hasn't been announced yet.

Wisconsin at home is a good get.

Scheduling games against schools like GW are the type of games this conference needs to get better at scheduling, those upper mid-majors are always good for SOS and RPI

Why is everyone so fixated on the crap OOC that our conference mates play? My concern is how we get through our own potentially challenging OOC. Let's become leader in our conference, make the tourney every year and it won't be a concern ala Louisville in CUSA of old. We do that and the recruits will be beating a path to our door too.

I don't think "everyone" is "fixated" but it is interesting and it does impact us, both in RPI and the national perception of the conference
