Per twitter, 2 new pups to add to the class. Ones from PA, the other homegrown. My guess the homegrown kid is Giaconia...the PAkidis a bit more of a mystery.

.-.

Does this mean we have three kids to talk about, two from CT and one from PA or is this second CT post a cryptic follow up on Allmendinger?

Mason Donaldson is another special teams freak. Booming kick offs, booming punts and catching 89 passes racking up 23 TDs. What do you do with this kid - aside from develop some crazy trick plays and have fun with his amazing vertical tossing fade route td passes?

I'm intrigued by the Mason Donaldson kid. Not fast, but shows great body control adjusting to the ball in the air. Also shows smooth hips in and out of cuts.

Not to mention he has KO leg not seen too often in HS. Looks like one of those really well rounded athletic types.

Lonsdorf to Rutgers as expected
(We were his safety school.;))

Its his 4.78 40 time that has keep him off the boards of the big schools. Can't teach his natural fluidity. Great upside. Naturally powerful legs.

Is there anything this kid can't do? Holy cow! Looks like one heck of an athlete.

My guess is that it is 2 CT (Allmendinger and possibly Gianconia) and another from PA (maybe Donaldson) and they still might not be done.

Does this mean the staff could be expecting to lose some other current commits?

That wasn't my intended thought - there have been rumors of other PWO that I haven't seen "announced". They could have moved on or may be waiting till Wednesday.

I've seen nothing else "official" about Giaconia but TOS is reporting he is on board and tends to make sense after the confirmation he took a visit this weekend and two CT paws tweets. I'm adding to him to list for now.

Something's going down. Typically PWO commits don't commit to the program in this manner, but if thats the new trend I like it. Gives those kids the same feeling of being a part of the program they pledge to.

Does this mean that Allmendinger is no longer a PWO commit and now a full scholly commit?

A number of last year's class PWO announced they were "committed to UConn prior to signing day (Sowa, Highsmith, etc...) but we also didn't have "UConn Football Paws" tweets last year...

This staff has walked the walked and been upfront with PWO: This is from a Fuller article on Allmendinger a few weeks ago:

>>"They say that being a preferred walk-on is the same thing as being on scholarship, you just pay for first year because they are bringing you in to earn a scholarship. Of course I wanted to validate that so I asked a player who actually was a preferred walk-on who earned a scholarship and he validated all of that so that was a relief knowing that was truthful. That kind of got my excitement level much higher knowing that my dream of playing high-level Division I football is finally coming true and I am going to make the most of it."<<

They are managing the roster much different than previous regimes.
