They won't use a scholarship on a long snapper, most likely a preferred walk-on spot.We need another leg (P/PK). A long snapper.

My bad.. just realized Puyol is a RS JR... makes sense about getting a walk-on P and LS...with a small recruiting class..or a K, we have 2. Not sure we can afford a P scholly either, not with a class this small.
In time, I hope HCBD is able to "smooth" out the recruiting classes over time, as we should be seeing ~22/year, and this is the 2d small class in the last 3 years.
Diaco had a lot of holes to fill when his scholly roster was at 61 at the end of last season. He added with a class last year, plus awarding some walk ons. He and the recruiting side will be fine. Don't forget just how young the roster is as well. There are only 12 seniors.or a K, we have 2. Not sure we can afford a P scholly either, not with a class this small.

we have a freshman long snapper right now who (I think) is on schollyI am not sure how Diaco will approach the recruitment of long snappers ... but ever since the long snapping struggles of 10 years ago the long snappers have received scholarships.

I'm pretty sure none of them got scholarships out of HS, most walked on, then earned them.I am not sure how Diaco will approach the recruitment of long snappers ... but ever since the long snapping struggles of 10 years ago the long snappers have received scholarships.
I like to see UConn get depth at linebacker and defensive backs as they work on special teams a lot which is always a need.
I would like to see a linebacker, safety, corner and a wide receiver and if any room another lineman.
We have quite a few LBs now.. but one more can't hurt.. Definitely in need of DB help... honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if there's some sort of additional attrition there.. and WR and OL... year 3 with kids that were here 1 or 2 years before Diaco... those that don't climb the depth chart tend to jump ship, look for greener pastures elsewhere. not many but some. can't blame them, because they want to see the field somewhere.
Vanderbilt?I think we get a transfer for the DB help...from an SEC school
Do you have some inside information?Yep
Even if that's the case, that won't help next year. He would have to sit out a year.I think we get a transfer for the DB help...from an SEC school
Not if he's a GSEven if that's the case, that won't help next year. He would have to sit out a year.
True.Not if he's a GS
Dwayne Difton was a 4* as well. Rarely do I post in the negative, but lets not forget!http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/140305/tre-bell
Might not help much, but he did hold an offer from UConn when he was a HS-SR. At least there is some connection between him and UConn. Also, Tre' has recently been following some of the players and basketball teams from what I've seen (Noel Thomas to name one). And I wouldn't mind if he had to sit out a year. a Former 4* recruit is great, just like when EJ Levenberry transferred here and will be on the 2-deep for us in 2016.
I can't imagine anything we need less than a grad student corner coming in. Just sayin.
