ENOCH BRINGS IT
To be honest, Steven Enoch’s performance at the National Prep Showcase in late November was disappointing. He wasn’t dialed in, didn’t play with energy and just flat out didn’t play well.
The story was much different on Sunday at the Hoop Hall Classic, where Enoch scored 18 points and reeled in seven rebounds to help Oakdale (Conn.) St. Thomas More knock off Saxtons River (Vt.) Vermont Academy.
With his future coach Kevin Ollie watching, Enoch played with aggression and intensity on both ends of the floor. At 6-foot-9, Enoch has legit size and good length, both of which he put to good work.
He’s mobile and on Sunday, he ran the floor with a purpose. He scored a couple times in transition, including a great catch in the open court to start the game. But he also raced back on defense and impacted the game with his shot blocking.
Offensively, Enoch, who ranks No. 62 overall, showed very good hands and touch in the paint. He connected on a right jump hook and also had another strong right finish over a post player trying to body him out of the lane. Enoch has potential on that end of the floor and he seems to be getting more confident in his ability on the block.

Jalen Adams, SG, Brewster – Simply put, Adams is going to put up a lot of points in a Connecticut uniform. The 6-foot-4 guard is fast, athletic and is one of the best all around scorers in the 2015 class. His scoring package is versatile. He’s a legit long-range threat, but also very comfortable hunting and pulling up for mid-range jumpers. Adams also showed good vision and created plays for others. He finished with 23 points on 9-for-16 shooting and five assists in a big win over Montverde Academy.

Some guys just look like they belong, he's one of them. Love his game, smooth and confident, not arrogant just "go out and play" confident. Can he reclassify to Feb 2015?

TOS on Jalen Adams
Currently ranked No. 25 in 2015, Adams was the leading scorer (23), assist man (5) and second on the team in rebounds with six. The Connecticut bound Adams is a hard charging, offensively aggressive, athletic player who is crafty with the bounce and is a streaky jump shooter. Most of all, he plays with confidence and toughness and looks like the kind of kid that can develop into a leader during his days in Storrs.

During the summer, UConn signee Steve Enoch was a revelation as he seemingly came out of nowhere to catapult to No. 60 in the national rankings. Then in November, he looked pretty bad while debuting for Oakdale (Conn.) St. Thomas More at the National Prep Showcase. On Sunday, though, Enoch looked much more like the guy from the summer, and then some. The 6-foot-9 power forward was a force on both ends as he scored 18 points, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked a pair of shots in St. Thomas More's 83-76 victory over Vermont Academy. He can play a little bit of pick and pop, has an already strong build that will easily carry more muscle and as a relative newcomer is really just learning the game. No. 60 in 2015's Rivals150 looks like it might be a little low if Enoch continues playing the way he did on Sunday.

Really like Adams. Did a lot of good things from a coach's perspective. One thing though I did notice he needs to work on his left hand or else in college they will overplay him.

The prep basketball team was fortunate to come away with a victory over visiting Wilbraham & Monson, 83-75. A lethargic effort on the defensive end enabled the visitors to jump out to an early 12 point lead. Unsigned Brewster point guard Kamali Chambers(Golden Valley, MN) provided a spark off the bench defensively to help the Bobcats tie the score at the half. Overall, eleven Bobcats saw double-figure minutes of playing time. Brewster was led by Justin Simon (Temecula, CA) with 14 points, while unsigned guard Devon Williams (Sharon, MA) and Louisville-bound Donovan Mitchell (Greenwich, CT) each contributed 13 points. Virginia-bound Jarred Reuter (Marion, MA) chipped in with 10 points, while Chambers and UConn-bound Jalen Adams (Roxbury, MA) each had 9 points. Again, the team lollygagged for a majority of the contest before pulling away late. Championship teams consistently play with effort and focus, especially on the defensive end of the floor. If the Bobcats hope to compete for a championship later this season, they will need to play with a greater sense of urgency.

The prep basketball team improved to 18-0 on the season with a 87-45 road win over Proctor Academy. All 13 players saw double-figure minutes and scored in the contest. Defensively, the Bobcats played with much more focus and intensity. Excellent pressure on the Proctor guards led to many transition baskets early enabling the visitors to lead 44-20 at the half. Brewster was led by Arizona-bound Justin Simon (Temecula, CA) with 18 points, while Washington-bound David Crisp (Lakewood, WA) contributed 13 points- both in limited minutes. Wisconsin-signee Alex Illikainen (Grand Rapids, MN) chipped in with 12 points. Unsigned guard Kamali Chambers (Golden Valley, MN) played another strong game, as did Tyler Colon (Palos Verdes Peninsula, CA), Joseph Worku (Antioch, CA) and Jamani Spencer (Porter Ranch, CA) in extended minutes. The Bobcats drilled 10 three-pointers in the contest against the hosts extended zone defense.

The prep basketball team had a 40 game winning streak snapped with a road loss to preseason NEPSAC favorite Northfield Mount Hermon, 97-88. Brewster committed a season-high 29 fouls, which caused 4 Bobcats to foul out of the contest. After committing 16 fouls in the first half, the visitors found themselves down 8 points at the half. Despite foul trouble from the outset to numerous starters, the Bobcats stormed back to take a 75-70 lead with approximately 6 minutes in regulation. However, the visitors were unable to withstand the tremendous shooting exhibition from the seasoned Hoggers. A balanced Brewster attack was led by Donovan Mitchell (Greenwich, CT) with 16 points, while David Crisp (Lakewood, WA) added 14 points. Forward Marcus Derrickson (Landover, MD) contributed 13 points, while Jalen Adams (Roxbury, MA) and Jarred Reuter (Marion, MA) each chipped in with 12 points. Brewster drops to 18-1 on the season (4-1 in NEPSAC Class AAA play). Brewster will host NEPSAC rival Bridgton Academy on Wednesday. Game time is 6pm.

Overall, 11 Bobcats scored in the contest. Brewster will host Kimball Union Academy on Friday at 6pm.

Brewster jumped out to a 47-30 lead at the half behind tough, focused team defense. In what's become a trend, the team lost the intensity on the defensive end and allowed the Cardinals to cut the lead to 5 points in the 2nd half before going on another spurt for the final margin. Brewster was led by David Crisp (Lakewood, WA) with 22 points, while Donovan Mitchell (Greenwich, CT) added 20 points off the bench. Point guard Jalen Adams (Roxbury, MA) added 18 points, 5 assists, and 5 steals, while Marcus Derrickson (Landover, MD) and Justin Simon (Temecula, CA) each contributed 13 points. Senior co-captain Jarred Reuter had a team-high 11 rebounds in the contest. Brewster's four high major point / combo-guards (Adams, Crisp, Mitchell, and Simon) combined for an astonishing 16 turnovers in the game. Brewster Academy improved to 22-1 on the season (7-1 in NEPSAC Class AAA play) with a 84-68 win over a strong St. Thomas More squad. Brewster shot a torrid 15 for 23 from three point range in the game, as well as 9-11 from the free-throw line. A well-played game on both sides, which saw each team commit fewer than 12 turnovers. Brewster was led by UConn-bound Jalen Adams (Roxbury, MA) with 27 points, including 6 three-pointers, as well as a game-high 7 assists. Washington-signee David Crisp (Lakewood, WA) added 24 points, including 5 three-pointers. Georgetown-bound Marcus Derrickson (Landover, MD) contributed 20 points (4 three-pointers) and 8 rebounds. Senior guards Donovan Mitchell (Greenwich, CT) and Justin Simon (Temecula, CA) each played well, defensively.

The National Prep School Invitational is this weekend at Rhode Island College - starts tomorrow and goes until Sunday.
Enoch's team is playing on Thursday at 1:15pm vs. Mt. Zion Academy, Friday at 3:00pm vs. IMG Academy, and Sunday at 10:30am vs. Bill Crothers Secondary School.

It's laughable that the guys at 247 think there are 31 better recruits out there than Jalen Adams.

• South Kent beat St. Thomas More, 80-70. Christian Vital led T-More (22-6) with 22 points and eight rebounds and UConn-bound Steve Enoch had 13 points and five rebounds.

Looks like Enoch is a bit inconsistent. Some very good statistical games, and others not so much.
What's his style of play? He an energy guy? Ive heard he's raw offensively, but can he defend? Rebound? I'm curious
