I suppose you're right. But how could anyone in their right mind expect to pull things out consistently against the likes of Michigan. I just hope the kid realizes, the chances of early playing time and making an early impact are at UConn. While it isn't a given, the 2 star under the radar types, fill out recruiting classes and rosters for the big time programs. It would be interesting to just how many actually see significant playing time in their careers.

My hope is that Michigan picks up a couple other offensive lineman commits before then or during his visit. That might be UCONN only hope.

While I understand the "allure" of being wined & dined by an "historic" program like Michigan, I am constantly at a loss about the notion that a "commit" means nothing to young recruits. I was taught at an early age that once you've made a choice & given your word, it's like a contract. Don't make a decision until all options have been explored, but once the decision has been made, it is binding.
Where is the guidance for these recruits? Haven't their parents or h.s. coaches taught them anything?
I realize that it's part of the recruiting game but it's annoying & goes against the grain in my mind.

If HCBD and staff can keep Ulizio committed, it might be a defining moment for the program. If he switches it's too bad, but if he stays committed its HUGE!

At the time he committed UConn was his only FBS offer and it was late in the process. He got offered by other FBS programs and said no thanks. When Michigan or Ohio State offers a kid from Big Ten country that is obviously a different deal. I wouldn't blame this kid or his parents, though I would warn him against being a "filler" late in the class vs coming where you were obviously wanted. Either way I wish him the best. Our coaches have offered committed recruits recently, including the QB Parr from Florida, its as you say, part of the game. Hope he sees the light.

I don't track this stuff like many of you do but I am encouraged to see that nearly every offer we've made and lost is going to a higher level program. There's only a handful where they aren't. If we start throwing out offers and consistently lose to MAC and lower level programs, that would be a huge red flag. I see nothing negative about offering where a big time program may already be in there. You never know. You never know where a buddy enrolled last year, where a girlfriend's going, etc.
