-> …Within that significant spotlight, attention now turns to Tuesday's game at Connecticut, which won the Big East in its first two years back in the conference and is in the process of defending four consecutive national tournament berths. Having opened a new facility at Elliot Ballpark in 2021, the Huskies and head coach Jim Penders quickly moved into the top of the New England baseball power polls, and last year's team advanced out of Maryland's College Park Regional to defeat No. 2 Stanford in the first game of the best-of-three Super Regional.

They ultimately lost an opportunity at advancing to the College World Series after dropping the second and third games to the Cardinal, but this year's team enters Tuesday with a 16-5 overall record. Its six-game winning streak most recently involved a three-game sweep over Rutgers. The game against BC is itself a one-game matchup between two teams positioned inside the top-15 of baseball's RPI and could likely serve as a measuring stick for programs fighting for a future national tournament slot.

"[We've] shown all year that we respond to what's thrown at us," Gambino said. "I wasn't surprised [at the wins over NC State] because it says a lot about our toughness and grit and how much [the team] cares about each other." <-

BC was down last year but has bounced back in a big way early this season. This is an important game due to the fact they are ranked and this might be one of the metrics the committee utilizes in determining seeding or even getting into the tournament if we don't win the Big East.

Been looking forward to this one. Will be cold but will suck it up and attend. Both teams coming in on rolls. Looks like Quiggy will get the start which is a quality starter for a midweek game. He's around the plate (5BBs in 19IP) and goes after hitters. Also looking forward to seeing Honeyman. Only common opponent is Rutgers (BC won 6-4). BC has been battle tested: Beat #10 Tennessee and beat Va. Tech, Fla St., and NC St. (all of whom have been ranked at some point this season). Tale of Tape (BC has played 1 more game): Avg .282-.267 Uconn, HRs 28-26 Uconn, SBs 36-31 Uconn (both teams like to run), ERA 4.72-5.12 Uconn. BC has played the tougher schedule as mentioned above so take that into account. Should be very interesting and a good test/measuring stick heading into Big East play.

Bundle up. Cold, no sunshine, perhaps wet. Good March New England baseball weather
Haha very well said. The forecast also seems to be deteriorating a bit. We'll see if its a go.

We’ll see how this shakes out…

Projected Starters
RHP Michael Quigley (2-0, 2.37 ERA) vs. RHP Luke Delongchamp (0-0, 10.80 ERA)

Funny. They say Michael Quigley, but they have Stephen Quigley's record posted. We'll see if they have the wrong first name posted.
