#20/24 UConn v. Tulane (Fri. 4/27@7p@Dunkin Donut Park,Sat.@2p@DDP & Sun.@11a @J.O.C.) TV Info Below

Funny, this afternoon it briefly crossed my mind that the Gozzo brother reunion would take place this weekend. While at work I briefly thought about posting something about it, then I got back to work and promptly forgot about it. Until now.

The David Borges article has some good stuff on Paul Gozzo:

>>“He’s a really good defensive catcher with a lot of upside in his bat,” UConn coach Jim Penders said of Paul Gozzo, who hit .224 with a homer and 13 RBIs in 44 games last year at Tulane. “He’s a very good teammate, has a very good feel for the game itself, which is what catchers need to do to be successful.”

In fact, even on a roster that includes Zac Susi, the Southington product who should be selected in this June’s MLB draft, and steady junior Thad Phillips, Gozzo may be the best on the team in handling a pitching staff.

“He knows what makes pitchers tick, how to get them on track when they’re off track,” said Penders. “He’s got a pitching coach’s brain behind the mask.”<<

They walk a lot of people. This would be a great series to slip Nucerino some at bats!

Based on the first two night's starters, both teams should use this sort of strategy:
UConn: 105 innings pitched, 49 walks
Tulane: 104 innings pitched, 47 walks

At the game. There is a fair number of people here but hardly anyone is in their seats pregame bc of the awful weather

.-.
Half the crowd is still safe from the sprinkles -_-.

Winkel just smoked one but it was caught.

.-.
UConn strands men on second and third (w/ 1 out)... moving to T5

Edit: 1-2-3 inning for Feole.

We have a guest over at the house and I haven't been able to follow the game all that closely. Does anyone know why Fedko pinch hit for Stefanski?
