Nucerino pinch hitting for Moriarty. Grounds out for out number 2.

Shame we were knocking on the door in the 9th. I thought that we'd get to extr innings. Still, we won another weekend series.

Of some concern is Moriarty's bat. He has been providing some offense since he got back in the lineup, but now he hasn't gotten on base the last 2 games. That wouldn't ordinarily bother me about most players, as slumps are part of the game. However, Moriarty had been in such a bad slump for a good chunk of the year, I just don't want to see any signs that it might be returning.

Just need to rebound and be sure to take care of business versus Sacred Heart on Tuesday. That kind of loss would leave a mark.

My best guess at this point for the Tuesday starter would be Colby Dunlop.

Here's the value of road wins to the RPI. Even though Memphis is flirting with 200 in the RPI, UConn with its two road victories has not lost any ground in the RPI, they are currently at 12.

UConn is currently in 2nd place in the AAC. I have to thin the Huskies chances of being an NCAA tourney host are much better if the Huskies finish in the top 2 spots in the conference.

Cincinnati is currently at 118 in the RPI. If the Bearcats make a little run in the final weeks of the season, than the AAC could have 8 teams in the RPI 100.

Cincinnati is now currently at 104 in the RPI. I just checked their schedule. The worst RPI team Cincinnati plays is a road game at Xavier (106). The rest of the teams Cincinnati plays are all currently in the RPI top 40. The Bearcats will have plenty of chances to break into the top 100 with that schedule.

Just seemed like great timing between the first and second posts. It just struck my funny bone at the time, but I was assuming the contrast was intentional on your part.
I guess it was that reverse mojo thing and apparently it worked. I was just glad he hit it solid as he was hitting a lot of fly balls of late.

Feole and Kersten to weekly Honor Roll

UCF and Cincinnati take home weekly baseball awards

>>Mason Feole * So. * LHP * UConn
Feole had another quality outing on Friday night to grab the series opener in a 5-1 win at Memphis. He chalked up 7.2 innings and struck out nine, while allowing one run on five hits. He shut out the Tigers for the first five innings before giving up just one run in the sixth. Feole has rattled off nine-straight starts of allowing three runs or less.

Jeff Kersten * Jr. * RHP * UConn
Kersten tossed six shutout innings while fanning a career-high eight batters in Game 2, as the Huskies clinched their fifth-straight conference series in a 2-0 win at Memphis. The junior righthander gave up one walk and three hits. He struck out the side in the second inning.<<
