Wow Huber smacked a HR 2/3 up the wall of the performance center.

Top 5th, after a leadoff single, Peterson with 3 straight strikeouts, that's 8 for the game. Peterson at 73 pitches. 3-1 Xavier.

You know you’re hitting the ball hard when it knocks the shortstop over.

Bottom 5th, UConn with a 2 out rally attempt that doesn't pan out. UConn leaves 2 runners on base.

Top 6th, a 2 out rbi single for Xavier, 4-1 for the visitors.

Sitting in my home in FL and I just realized we are on FS1 tonight. Elliot shows really well on TV.

Now lets get a few runs and pull out the W.

Top 7th, Peterson with a scoreless inning. 4-1 Xavier.

UConn bats need to get back to making some noise, but that is stating the obvious.

Bottom 7th, UConn strands 2 runners on base.

Top 8th, Brendan O'Donnell in to pitch for UConn.

Top 8th, leadoff lefty hitter with a single off of O'Donnell, pitching change. Brady Afthim takes the mound for the Huskies. A walk and a bunt single load the bases with no outs. An infield error on Smith brings in another run and leaves the bases loaded with no out. 5-1 Xavier. Sac fly makes it 6-1.

Well this inning is getting ugly

I’m impressed with X. They brought energy and intensity and we didn’t. They made plays in field, got clutch hits and deserve this game. Need Pat G to bring it tomorrow as this team seems hell bent on coming in here to sweep not just win a game.

Rational me knows it’s baseball and the chances of us continuing to breeze through every game were minuscule. Nature of the sport and all that.

UConn fanatic me is getting quite disturbed by now two duds in a row right when the RPI was coming up and the host chatter was emerging on the fringes.

Xavier has played a tough non conference schedule, and it hurt their win loss record, especially at the start of the season when they played some top notch teams and lost a bunch of games in a row to start off the season.

Bottom 8th, UConn strands a runner in scoring position.

One thing for sure, Korey Morton was red hot with the bat before he got hurt, but he hasn't gotten the bat going since getting back into the lineup.

Top 9th, Garrett Coe in to pitch.
