My wife and I have been making an annual donation to UConn Athletics since about 1997. Nothing all that big (nothing that required a comma in the dollar figure), but over the years it all adds up. At some point we started to target the donations to the new soccer and baseball facilities.

Whatever the case, because of our donations over the years, we have been invited by UConn Athletics to attend the Elliot Ballpark Dedication and the reception before the Dedication, as well as the game on Saturday. Can't pass up something like this, so we will be in Storrs for a good chunk of Saturday. As such, I won't be posting inning by inning updates that day like I usually do (I think my wife would kill me if I spent the whole game that I was atttending looking at my phone).

Bottom 3rd, UConn with 2 runners on base with no outs. Xavier pitching change, they use an opener strategy, so their starting pitcher coming out this early is nothing new.

Xavier gets out of the inning with the help of a line drive double play. 2-0 Xavier.

Need to be more disciplined. That is 2 games in a row now. With no outs it's bad base running.
