Darn, QU getting close to losing the lead they've had the entire game. Too bad - Marquette underestimated them and deserves to lose.
It's not English, it's a a Native American word.I must admit, I'm just learning this for the first time. It seems I'd always heard it pronounced as a paroxytone.
Very, very rare in English to have a word end in three unstressed syllables. I'm having a nerd moment![]()
The guard missed the open shooter. Cmon, Q, hold it together.
I saw that. I thought she was just messin' with Rebecca. They do that a lot. Did you hear Michelle accuse Andy of stealing Rebecca's notes after he said Rebecca was his mentor? And Michelle is STILL mispronouncing it after Rebecca said, "If they win this one, people outside Connecticut will learn that it's QUIN-eh-pee-ac, not quin-eh-PEE-ac."
They called the trip Flagrant in the Seton Hall men's game yesterdayThe bench is calling for an intentional.
I KNOW! It is sooooo annoying. You would think Rebecca would have corrected them and the others! I am not sure I want them to win just so I won't have to hear it pronounced incorrectly any more....The Q is up 16-4 with 4:20 left in the first quarter.
The announcers are calling the Bobcats Quin-eh-PEE-ac. It's QUIN-eh-pee-ac.
