Big East Coaching Hot Seat/Departure Ranking

I think the unexpected loss of Thomas Sorber really set Georgetown back this year as I don't think Cooley expected him to be a one and done. Obviously, he would have been injured (ACL) and missed this season, but, if healthy, Georgetown would have been a much better team with him this year.

    New PAC-12 Forming

UConn is a flagship state university that has wide support from politicians, business leaders, students, alumni, state residents,... And, I think people forget how much of a regional basketball power UConn was before Calhoun as UConn made 13 NCAAs with an Elite 8 and 22 conference...

    More trouble in ACC paradise?

Louisville has been overspending and they need to curb their spending. And, Louisville/state of Kentucky need to figure out how to pay for the Yum Center. BTW, the P2/Notre Dame would never go for pooled TV rights.

    More trouble in ACC paradise?

It really is mismanagement. Think about this. DeFilippo fired/pushed out 4 relatively successful coaches, 2 in football (O'Brien and Jagodzinski), and 1 in men's (Skinner) and 1 in women's basketball (Iglese), and BC has never recovered. Add in a President who really doesn't care about...

    Peacock vs st johns

People need to get used to live sports being streamed as more games/events are moving that way: NFL/MLB/NHL/NBA/Olympics/golf/soccer/NCAAF/NCAAB/tennis...

On my cable package. Never knew it existed until UConn games were on it.

Is University of New Haven Going To Go FCS?

Division 2 football allows for 36 scholarships vs 63 in FCS or an increase of 27 scholarships so it's not really a big financial change, especially because they are probably providing need based scholarships for a number of athletes already. And, there are only 8 D2 schools in New England/NY/NJ...

    More trouble in ACC paradise?

Let's break it down into revenue sharing and NIL. First revenue sharing. If you look at the typical P4 athletic department, there is tons of fat that can be cut, but there was little incentive to do it before as long as you broke even or came close. I think what we are seeing is a reordering...

    Big East February '26 Thread

UConn's perimeter defense was terrible as Creighton drove to the hoop for easy baskets with no help defender in the lane. Creighton scored 91 points on 10 assists when they normally average 76.6 points on 15.6 assists which tells you Creighton was beating UConn 1 on 1. They shot 49.1% (45.8%...

Geez…We are 24-3, we played poorly and lost a game..relax

I think most of us, including Hurley as he stated in his press conference, see the glaring problem with this team: defense. The players are not good 1-on-1 defenders with the exception of Demery. Creighton spread the floor and cleared the lane and had their players drive to the hoop for...

Either Stewart or Ross needs to start

Creighton spread the floor and there were no UConn defenders in the lane. Creighton would then take their man off the dribble and drive to the hoop and make easy baskets. There was nobody in the lane with help defense and it makes the UConn defense look worse than it is. In other words, UConn...

Key tweets, and it's all gone to Hell.

Ha! I'm just saying my BC friends thought we were in based on what they were hearing and they were just as surprised by the Louisville news as I was.

    Chief’s Brief - Creighton Edition

When I watch the games, I'm shocked about the number of times that the paint is empty when UConn is playing defense. Thus, teams spread UConn out and guards drive to the hoop creating easy baskets or fouls. The starters, with the exception of Demery, are not good man defenders, yet we are...

    Creighton Post Game Thread

Watch the lane when UConn is on D. Wide open and no rim protection allowing for easy layups. Don’t have a is a tough rebounder to help Reed. Starting lineup is not athletic. FT shooting is bad. Too many forced shots tonight. Must mean UConn will win the NCAAT!

UMass > MAC for all sports in 2025-2026

Many conference additions have been due to the economics of that period. Rutgers was added because they added cable boxes for the Big Ten Network as captive cable boxes were the way most people got cable. Stanford, Cal, and SMU were added to the ACC due to captive cable boxes for the ACCN and...
