    B1G Ramblings

The ACC is already at performance revenue splits after settling the FSU/Clemson dispute and you will really start to see that starting this year. Virginia Tech estimated that the range of payouts for the legacy ACC could be $20 million+ difference from the ACC "Success Initiative". In the VT...

Key tweets, and it's all gone to Hell.

College basketball is more valuable than the current NCAA payouts. Compare that rating to the CFP semis: Semifinals: The Fiesta Bowl (Miami-Ole Miss) drew 15.8 million, while the Peach Bowl (Indiana-Oregon) drew 18 million

    Boozer Breaks Silence

The last 10 seconds are on the Duke coaches. First, they had a time out and they probably should have used it before inbounding. Second, why was Sarr a freshman and a 53% FT shooter inbounding the ball? He inbounded to Cam Boozer who was quickly double teamed so he threw it back to Sarr and...

Key tweets, and it's all gone to Hell.

I think the enrollment growth of the Sun Belt universities has lead to athletic ambitions. Look at UCF for example. In 2000, the enrollment was ~33k vs 70k today. When you are growing, a university can and wants to invest.

    More trouble in ACC paradise?

Notre Dame has not been scheduling G6 schools (except Navy) as they have only 3 games scheduled with a G6 school through 2038. The ACC is pretty weak so Notre Dame needs to schedule other P4 schools to improve the schedule. This year's schedule looks really weak. End of the day, Notre Dame is...

    Non-Key Tweets

That wouldn't work. UConn in the Big East is fine for now, but the goal is a P4 invite in the future. These last 4 years, UConn athletics have been on an incredible run even though we don't get P4 media revenues.

    Think this will help recruiting?

Stacking the roster with one and dones does not win championships. You need experience and you saw that last night. And, you need a bench of players willing to accept their role. Bring in one one and done freshman, one or two freshmen that will stay two to four years, and fill the holes...

    Luke Murray and BC?

I think it will be a steep climb to pull BC out of the ACC basement as BC has been a step or two behind when it comes to accepting the new college athletics financial model. Not only has BC not spent on players, they need to invest more in assistant coaching salaries and support staff. That...

    Luke Murray and BC?

According to some alums I know, Butler was in NYC and they weren't encouraged by Butler's thoughts on financially supporting athletics. Maybe he will be more supportive. Heck, Father Leahy didn't even show up for Jerry York's retirement press conference.

    Luke Murray and BC?

Here is the financial issue with BC. When cost of attendance was voted on back in 2015, the vote was 79-1 with BC being the only no vote. And, they have been late to full revenue sharing. Many think the administration is not keen about paying athletes and they have been a follower and not a...

    Luke Murray and BC?

You do realize that Grant was not that successful at CoC (26-24 his last 2 years) and his hiring by BC was a complete surprise to many. Kelsey did great at CoC and he got a top P4 job with Louisville. Mack has to rebuild his career after getting fired at Louisville and USF is one of the top...

NIL has Reshaped how Coaches Look at Jobs

NIL and revenue sharing are most important, but so is a coaches ability to develop players for the NBA, basketball networking opportunities, ability of family to attend games, facilities, playing style, and brand to some extent, especially if the finances are similar.

    Luke Murray and BC?

I think Hurley's hiring of Nardi and Tom Moore moving into the GM role was in preparation of losing one (both?) of the assistant coaches.

    Luke Murray and BC?

The last 6 head coaches at College of Charleston: John Kresse. 560-143 Tom Herrion. 80-38 Bobby Cremmins. 125-68 Doug Wojcik 38-29 Earl Grant 127-89 Pat Kelsey 75-27 All the head coaches at CoC going back to 1979 have won. And, if you are an upcoming coach, you can move up after your stint...

And the NIL/rev share target is moving.
