Agree. Certainly need to give Blakes her due but when I hear Shea refer to her as a generational player me thinks that’s right up there with people who abuse the term iconic, when speaking of actors. Get past UNC, then let’s see what Sunday brings and presuming Geno puts KK on Blakes, well, it...
Other 1 seeds had the same time-off and to me, looked like they were caged up for those two weeks and ready to take a bite out of their opponent, we didn’t, plain and simple. See you Monday night.
When those numbers start to include shots from say 12’ and beyond and there’s a level of consistency over the course of a season, count me in. Her FT% for a guard gives indication of the general lack of prowess for a consistent outside shot.
Not the sort of stats that gets to the AP list, traditionally. If she can develop some sort of consistency with an outside shot, maybe. If I’m in the FF I play off of her until time she shows me she can hit it beyond say 3 of 10.
I personally could give two craps about the bracket. I’m of the ‘I’ll play whomever you put in front of me’ mindset. The better the teams you stack against me and I beat, we’ll that’s the proof to the committee, I just don’t get their rationale at times and when Holly interviewed that election...
Geno himself said it’s BS about not wanting two SEC teams as #’s 1 and 2 and cited it’s always possible two teams from the same conference can face-off in the final eight game so why force this. He asked if Vandy is the the 8th ranked team in the country and found it hard to believe such.
More about, and I’ll go along for the ride that they’re currently the best, how does the committee eventually prevent having both a #1 and #2 in the same bracket, representing the SEC?
Michigan isn’t the team that nearly beat us. That one kid for Michigan thought the basket was as wide as the Mississippi and everything, and I do mean everything she threw up went in. Hasn’t had a game since, that even remotely comes close to that.
South Carolina can walk to the FF. Iowa to me is the lowest of the 2 seeds and should have been in UCONN’s bracket. Vanderbilt with So Carolina if they’re the #5 team, no?
